Several readers have reported that they were able to get the 20% discount applied to the 5D Mark III at the Canon Direct Store. At 12:30 PM we were able to replicate the deal ourselves.
Please note, since this deal requires a live agent there’s a chance that your agent might not give you the deal, or that this deal could go away very quickly. However, this is a fantastic price and is worth a shot. To reproduce the deal:
- Click here to go to the Canon Store, and add the Refurbished 5D Mark III to your cart.
- Start checkout, and enter coupon code “ZOMBIE2143”.
- Press the “Chat Now” button and start a live chat.
- Ask the agent (politely) to please apply the 20% discount on the 5D Mark III.
- If all goes well, you should see a price of $2175.36 in cart!

I tried as well… and the rep said the coupon excluded the 5DMKIII and the 1DX. Bummer.
I was able to get through after a few refreshes of the cart page. Agent said that the promo code did not apply. Tried a new incognito window and wasn’t able to get the “chat” button to reappear to try again.

After finally getting connected to chat I was also told that the Mark III was excluded. On a side point though – how did the discount applied become 22% in the screen cap above? My math might be wrong but that’s more off than 20%

Mystery solved (albeit late): it’s 20% off the already discounted current price of $2719.20.
Live chat said the promotion was not applicable.

It didn’t work for me …. I was told that the 5d3 and the 1dx were excluded. I also called the 800# and talked to a rep and was told the same ..
