Amazon has a very hot Prime Day spotlight deal on SanDisk Extreme SD cards. This is the latest version of their Extreme line, UHS speed class 3 topping out at 90MB/s. This is even faster than their previous “Extreme Plus” line. This deal is only available to Amazon Prime Members. See our Prime Day coverage.

Active & Upcoming Deals — All Times EASTERN TIMEZONE

We’re coming up to Amazon’s second annual “Prime Day”, on Tuesday July 12th. “Prime Day” is Amazon’s one-day shopping event, which they claim to have “more deals than Black Friday”. Access to the deals is restricted to Amazon Prime members only. As usual, CanonPriceWatch will be watching the deals.
Don’t expect deals on Canon cameras or lenses on Prime Day. Canon items are restricted by a MAP year-round and Prime Day is no exception. You can browse our summary of last year’s deals for examples, but we expect to see great prices on memory cards, filters, bags, Rokinon lenses, color calibration, studio equipment, and perhaps a Sigma lens or two. Deals sell out quickly, so be prepared to jump on them (or waitlist if you miss out.)
As the deals are restricted to Amazon Prime members only, now would be a good time to sign-up for a free 30-day trial of Prime if you haven’t yet already. Be sure to check back on Tuesday for the deals.

Part of the Amazon Prime Day deals, the Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM is $899 for the next 3.5 hours at Amazon. However, you will need to get on the waitlist for it.
Alternatively, we have the Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM in stock via the street price program for $1079.99, from an authorized dealer with a 1-year Sigma USA Warranty and free shipping. Compare with $1199.99 at other authorized dealers.

More info is now available on the Amazon Prime Day, including a partial list of the Canon-related photography items that will be featured. See below for a list of some of the items we’re expecting to see go on sale, and the time we expect them to be featured (in Eastern timezone.)
As expected we do not see any Canon items on the list — they are likely still restricted by the Canon Minimum Advertised Price policy. There may be good deals on accessories, bags, and third-party lenses (such as Rokinon.) We hope there are a lot more than this list, as so far it’s looking quite sparse.
