EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM for $1899 at B&H

Nice to see prices starting to move again: B&H Photo Video has the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM for $1899.00, after $300 mail-in rebate. You see this price after an extra discount at checkout.

Not nearly as good as the double dip deal a few weeks ago, but after 4% rewards your net is $1811.

We’re hoping for some more fresh deals soon. It has been a surprisingly quiet two weeks, except for the massive Canon refurbished sale.

EOS Rebel SL1 Body for $424.99 Brand New at Canon Direct Store

The Canon Direct Store has the super-small and super-light Canon EOS Rebel SL1 brand new for $424.99. Start checkout to see this price. This is the absolute cheapest we’ve seen from an authorized dealer for this body-only.

This smells like a price mistake — there are two simultaneous “Instant Savings”, one is $100 and the other is $50. Compare with $549 new at other authorized dealers — this is $125 cheaper.

Speedlite 600EX-RT for $449 at Samy’s Camera via Amazon

Authorized Canon dealer Samy’s Camera via Amazon has the Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT for $449.00. This is the absolute cheapest price we’ve ever seen for this speedlite from an authorized dealer.

UPDATE 2: They are sold out in four hours, via their Amazon storefront. You can still place an order directly with the Samy’s store at this price and it’ll ship when available.

The regular price for this flash is $499 ($549 less a $50 instant rebate). It looks like Samy’s is doubling the instant rebate.

Last time we checked, Samy’s Camera only charges sales tax on purchases within California state. Shipping is free.

UPDATE: Half an hour after our post, Amazon now says “Only 20 left in stock.”

Back: Rokinon 8mm f/3.5 HD Fisheye for $199 at BuyDig via eBay

This deal is back: BuyDig via eBay has the Rokinon 8mm f/3.5 HD Fisheye for Canon for $199.99! This is the newer “HD” version of this popular lens, which features a detachable lens hood for full-frame shooters to get the widest field of view.

It regularly goes for $289-$329 at other authorized dealers, so at $199 this is an absolute steal; this is same price as the non-HD 8mm fisheye deal a few months ago!

You can see some fun and creative photos taken with the 8mm f/3.5 fisheye in the Flickr group for this lens.

Currently Active Double-Dip Deals on L-Lenses

Here is a summary of all the currently active double-dip deals on Canon L lenses. Double-dip deals are ones where the retailers have lowered their prices by the amount of the current mail-in rebate, effectively doubling it. Generally the prices (after rebate) are some of the lowest we’ve ever seen in the years that we’ve been running this site, and we don’t expect to see any discounts beyond this.

As with all previous double-dips these prices are after mail-in rebate, and only seen at checkout. Many of these deals are active at B&H, which also provides an additional 4% reward.

Hot Double-Dip: EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS for $749 at BuyDig via eBay

This a hot double-dip deal: BuyDig via eBay has the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM for $749.00 (after a $150 mail-in rebate). This ties for the cheapest price that we’ve ever seen for this lens. BuyDig is an authorized dealer.

This is a fantastic price for a stellar lens. This is latest in a series of double-dip deals, where stores discount by the amount of the mail-in rebate, effectively doubling it. Finally we see our double-dip on the 100L Macro! We’re still waiting for a 85L or 70-200 II double-dip!

UPDATE: There have been questions about rebate eligibility. BuyDig is an authorized dealer, thus it is eligible for the rebate. BuyDig also even mentions the rebate in the title of the eBay listing. Also, your receipt will be from BuyDig and won’t mention eBay.

Tamron 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD for $299 Net at BuyDig

Today’s eBay Daily Deal: BuyDig via eBay has the Tamron AF18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD for Canon for $299.00, net price after rebate and gift card. BuyDig is an authorized Tamron dealer, and this is the absolute cheapest we’ve seen it ever!

Here’s how the deal works: BuyDig via eBay is listing the lens for $459, but also bundles in a $90 gift card. (In the past, when they have previously offered “gift cards” they later just deduct the value off the purchase price, this is just to get around MAP, but you may want to contact the seller to ensure this is what they are doing.)

There’s also a $70 mail-in rebate for this lens. This makes your net price is $459 – $90 – $70 = $299.
