This is an incredible deal as the same new underwater housing is already $237 at other dealers. The PowerShot S110 refurbished is regularly $203, so together this is over $161 savings. The housing is new and not refurbished, only the S110 is refurbished.

Protecting Yourself During eBay Transactions

We have been getting a lot of questions — “how safe is it to buy from unauthorized dealers?”. In short, we think it’s quite safe if you rely on platforms like eBay when buying from an unauthorized dealer as they have some of the best buyer protection around.

This post recaps some of the protection available via eBay and gives some tips on how to protect yourself.

Note: Purchases at unauthorized dealers may not have Canon USA warranty, depending on if it’s US model or Grey Market — you can read our article about that separate topic.

Many buyers don’t realize a seller is responsible for every detail in their listing. This includes the table of information in the “Item specifics” at the top of the listing, as well as any information the seller has added to the listing description.

This is the lowest price we’ve ever seen for this body and lens combination, new.

However, Get It Digital via eBay is not an authorized dealer. They are, however, one of the more reputable unauthorized dealers and have a history of reliably delivering on deals as advertised over the last few years.

Hot eBay Deal: AllNewShop via eBay has the Canon EOS-1D X for $4999.99. This is the absolute lowest price we’ve seen for a new EOS-1D X, $450 lower than the previous best unauthorized dealer deal ($5449). This is a one-day deal.

Note, AllNewShop via eBay is not an authorized dealer. They are however one of the more reliable and reputable unauthorized dealers, the same store as GetItDigital. They recently sold 355 copies of the 5D Mark IIIs for $2559, I heard no reader complaints from that deal.

Please see the listing for details on the seller warranty. However at this price point you can easily purchase a third-party warranty and still come out ahead. Compare with $6799 for the 1D-X from authorized dealers or our street price of $6199.
