B&H Photo Video now has the Canon EOS 5Ds in-stock at $3699.00 — their site lists it as available to ship tomorrow (Monday). They’re also offering a 2% reward. Amazon is also showing it in-stock.

There’s also a new stackable mail-in rebate: when you purchase lenses at the same time as the EOS 5Ds, you can effectively double the existing rebate. You can find the rebate form here. It clearly says that this new offer “may be combined with other Canon promotional offers running concurrently”.

We now have more info on the combo deal that will accompany the 5Ds camera launch. When you purchase EOS 5Ds and EOS 5Ds R from a Canon USA authorized dealer on or after June 14th, you can double the mail-in rebate offer on selected L lenses.

The lens purchase must be made on the same day as the camera purchase — it may require coordination, especially if you have already pre-ordered, but it is definitely possible to do.

As our street prices are from authorized Canon USA dealers, this double mail-in rebate stacks with our already low street prices, resulting in some fantastic savings if you decide to purchase a EOS 5Ds or EOS 5Ds R and load up on lenses at the same time. This lens was only recently made available and is still out of stock at many stores. Compare with $1089 regular price at many stores. Many readers have also expressed interest in the much more expensive Sigma Sport 150-600mm, priced at $1999. We don’t have a street price on the Sport lens, nor will we have one soon, as that lens has been difficult to find.

5Ds and 5DsR June 14 Launch: Low Supply, and Combo Deals

We’ve heard some more info about the EOS 5Ds and EOS 5Ds R launches, from our usual reliable sources. Many USA dealers have received their bodies, but a sales embargo date prevents the cameras from being shipped out until Sunday.

It seems like Canon underestimated the interest in the more expensive EOS 5Ds R — we hear dealers received very few EOS 5Ds R, not enough to fill all pre-orders placed. Allocations in the EOS 5Ds are slightly better, but supply is far from plentiful.

We know of a few Canon authorized USA dealers who have EOS 5Ds bodies from their first allocation not yet spoken for, and available to ship out on Monday. If you are interested, please contact us via the EOS 5Ds street price form (and mention “first allocation USA dealer”). We also have a pre-order street price on both the EOS 5Ds and the EOS 5Ds R.

Finally, we’ve also heard that Canon may be planning a special launch promotion featuring combo discounts when the new bodies are purchased together with top-end L glass. We’re still looking into this, and we’ll post more details as they become known.
