Restock: EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II for $1679 Refurb, or $1799 New

The Canon Direct Store just restocked 20+ copies of the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II refurbished for $1679.20. Free shipping. This is a very popular refurbished lens that is rarely in-stock at the Canon Direct Store.

Unfortunately, the 10%-off lenses sale just expired on Sunday. As the Canon Direct Store does collect tax to all states, you may also want to consider the street price of $1799 brand new from a Canon USA authorized dealer. It would include both the 1-year Canon USA warranty and the special 13-month accidental damage extended warranty.

PIXMA PRO-100 Bundles Still Available at B&H and Adorama

The PIXMA PRO-100 bundle deals are still available at B&H and Adorama (although prices and availability has been shifting around a bit.) Here is a summary of the bundle deals available.

The $350 mail-in rebate expires on February 27th, but dealers have the discretion to change the price at any time, and have done so in the past with no notice.

One-Day Deal: PNY SD Cards 64GB $19, 128 GB $36, Pro 64GB $25

Amazon, B&H and Adorama are all featuring the same one-day deal on PNY Elite and Pro Elite SD cards. These are great prices for 95MB/s UHS Class 3 cards. We will caution that while the Amazon reviews for the “Elite” line average 4.5 stars out of 5, there are reports of defective cards, or not being recognized as U-3.

Luckily, also on sale today only is the newly released “Pro Elite” line, which sells for only $6 more than the “Elite” line (for the 64GB card), and doesn’t have the same negative reviews. Likely a worthy upgrade.

Check out all the PNY items that are on-sale today at Amazon — thanks David for the heads up!

Up to $300 off Apple MacBooks (12″, Early 2015) at B&H, from $999

B&H is offering up to $300 off 12″ Apple MacBooks, this weekend only. Most colors and configurations are available. The basic configuration for $999 is a fantastic deal.

We can’t resist posting this, because we’re huge fans of the 12″ Apple MacBook. Weighing in at just over 2 pounds, it’s the perfect weight and size to slip into a camera bag. There’s no fan. This means it runs very quiet, doesn’t get hot, and the battery lasts all day — we don’t even bring the charger. Photos and videos look amazing on the Retina display. They keyboard is surprisingly usable. (Did you know, most of these blog posts are written using this MacBook?)

Street Prices: 100-400 II $1749, 70-200 II $1749, 24-70 II $1599

We now have street price specials on three popular lenses.

As usual, these prices are for brand new lenses from Canon authorized dealers. Quantities are limited, and these prices are only available while quantities last.

Hot, Grey Market: 24-70mm II $1399, 5D Mark III $1899, AllNewShop

AllNewShop via eBay has two incredibly hot grey market deals. First is the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM for $1399.00, which is the lowest price seen yet for this lens. They also have the Canon EOS 5D Mark III for $1899.00, which ties for the lowest price yet on this camera.

AllNewShop, also known as GetItDigital, is not an authorized dealer, so this item is grey market. A Canon USA warranty is not guaranteed. Readers report that the warranty has historically been honored by Canon USA, but given recent legal disputes, that may change.

Also beware a potential upsell call (stay firm and insist they process your order at this price). Other than this, they have been a reliable dealer.

More Canon Store Restocks: 16-35mm f/4, Super-Telephotos

In addition to the massive restock earlier today, the Canon Direct Store has restocked a few other very popular lenses. Check out our refurbished stock tracker for all the restocks. There is currently a sale: 10%-off all refurbished lenses, until Saturday, February 13th.

You can also sign-up for notifications via our refurbished stock tracker. Several rare refurbs (including the 300mm II, 200mm f/2, and TS-E 17mm) restocked earlier today and sold out within minutes.
