Street Price Open Over New Year’s, Last Days Before Price Increase

First and foremost — we’d like to thank all of our readers again for the tremendous support in 2015, and we wish you all a happy, prosperous, and safe 2016. We absolutely enjoy what we do for the Canon photographer community, and we hope to be doing this for many years to come! We’re looking forward to a 2016 filled with new camera announcements (hint hint, Canon.)

Now, some end-of-year housekeeping:

Due to the demand, we’re going to be available on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day and keep processing street price orders right up until Saturday evening, so you can beat the price hike, or still get orders in during 2015 for tax reasons. Our response times may be a little longer than usual, because, hey, we need to celebrate too! Please don’t wait until the last minute. Shipping carriers remain closed so all orders will ship on Monday.

Most major camera stores (like B&H) remain open until Friday noon. Please be sure to place any orders for printer bundles or open box specials before then, don’t miss out!

Details of Upcoming Canon Rebate Changes (January 2nd)

Unfortunately the upcoming rebate change on January 2nd is extensive, and not a change for the better. If you’re looking to purchase a Canon camera, lens, or flash: the time is now. We now have the full details: 23 lenses, several cameras, and all printer bundles will see their rebate reduced or eliminated altogether.

Here is a run-down of all the items that will have their rebates reduced or eliminated.

Printer Bundle Deals Increasing in Price

We’re told that the printer bundle deals will not be available after January 2nd, at current pricing.

Cameras with Reduced Instant Savings — Effective Price Increase

We’re told the EOS 7D Mark II, EOS 70D, EOS 5Ds and EOS 5Ds R will have their instant savings reduced.

Also, the instant rebate on the EOS M3 will be reduced. Right now you can get the EOS M3 and EVF-DC1 Electronic Viewfinder for only $448.98 at B&H. Click here, then click “Build Bundle” (under the price box), then select the bundle with the EVF-DC1. This will be more expensive after Saturday.

Lenses with Reduced Instant Savings — Effective Price Increase

Sadly, we will see a reduction in instant savings on the below 23 lenses and 3 flashes, which translates to an effective price increase. If you’re coveting a lens on this list, we highly recommend you take advantage of the current pricing prior to the price change on January 2nd. Most items will see either a $50 or $100 price increase. Historically, the next opportunity for big savings will be in the Spring (typically around April/May).
