The Spyder5 features better low luminance accuracy compared to the Spyder4 series of display calibration. The very popular mail-in rebate on the purchase of two or more lenses that was scheduled to expire tonight has been extended. A new rebate will run from August 28th through October 1st. Additionally, the EOS 5D Mark IV is now an eligible body for activating the mail-in rebate on lenses.

Also scheduled to expire tonight was the instant rebate on lenses. Most of the instant rebates were renewed, with a few increasing in value, resulting in a net price drop on a few popular lenses.

The gem from yesterday’s new product announcements appears to be the Canon W-E1 WiFi Adapter, available for pre-order at a very reasonable $39.95 at B&H Photo Video or Adorama. It’s compatible with the 7D Mark II, 5DS and 5DS R.

This Wi-Fi adaptor (in the form of an SD card) allows you to wirelessly transfer photos and MP4-format video to a smartphone, tablet, or computer, and use Canon’s Camera Connect mobile app to remotely control and trigger the camera. This is all done over a 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz) band with a range of up to 32.8′.

This is available for pre-order for a very reasonable $39.95 at B&H Photo Video or Adorama and will first ship on September 8th — I’m sure this one will be popular!
