Amazon Prime Day Starts July 10th, 9 PM ET, Here’s What to Expect

This year’s Amazon “Prime Day” has a slightly different format. It’s officially on Tuesday July 11th, but the deals will begin at 9 PM ET on Monday July 10th and run for 30 hours. Amazon’s Prime Day will have many exciting deals, many restricted to Amazon Prime members only. Just like the previous two years, CanonPriceWatch will be staying up to watch all the deals.

Don’t expect deals on Canon cameras or lenses on Prime Day. Canon items are restricted by a MAP year-round and Prime Day is no exception. You can browse our live-updating post of last year’s deals for examples of what was available. We expect to see great prices on memory cards, filters, bags, Rokinon lenses, color calibration, studio equipment, and perhaps a Sigma lens or two. Deals sell out quickly, so be prepared to jump on them (or waitlist.) It is also a perfect time to pick up Amazon devices (such as Echo, Fire TV, Fire Tablet, Kindle and subscriptions.)

As many deals are restricted to Amazon Prime members only, now would be a good time to sign-up for a free 30-day trial of Prime if you haven’t yet already. Be sure to check back on Monday 9 PM for the deals!

Hot: 24-70 II $1499, 70-200 II $1699, 100-400 II $1799, AR, Free Printer

This deal is back from authorized Canon USA dealer BuyDig: they have three great bundles of popular lenses with PIXMA PRO-100 printers. You need to apply a coupon code to see a discounted price, then you get a $250 mail-in rebate (for printer + paper) to net an incredible deal. The printer ink and print head easily resells for over $100.

This is brand new, not grey market, from an authorized Canon USA dealer with a 1-year Canon USA warranty, plus the free 13-month CarePAK Plus. It will likely sell out or expire soon.

Canon Renews Rebate on 5D IV at Last Minute, CarePak Unknown

At the last minute, Canon USA reversed their decision: they will renew the $200 instant rebate on the EOS 5D Mark IV for 4 more weeks. Until today, all signs were that the instant rebate was not going to be renewed after it expires on Saturday. However, there is currently still no indication that the Canon CarePAK Plus promotion, also expiring on Saturday, will be renewed. Our street price (including the free CarePAK Plus) remains at $3069, brand new, from a Canon USA authorized dealer.

We also have a street price of $2999 from a Canon authorized dealer with a 1-year Canon USA warranty. This particular price is not expected to last long and will likely increase in the near future.

B&H DealZone: Lowepro Echelon Roller $449, +Attache $529 (45% Off)

Today’s B&H DealZone (one-day deal) is the Lowepro Echelon Roller (Black) for $449.95. You can also purchase both the Echelon Roller and Echelon Attache together for $529.95 (click this link, then click “See Details”, and click “Add All To Cart”.)

The Lowepro Echelon Roller was Lowepro’s attempt to move up-market into camera bags with luxury finishes. A standard carry-on size, the bag features an impact-resistant molded interior, many accessories, and a tremendous amount of space: up to 2 DSLRs with 6-8 lenses, flashes, or accessories. The only major complaint was the regular price ($800). B&H DealZone is featuring it today-only for $350 or 44% off, or with Echelon Attache for only $529 (regular price $1129).

Beat the Price Increase: EOS 5D Mark IV Going Up in Price in 1 Week

We now have confirmation that the EOS 5D Mark IV will be the next casualty in the Canon summer price increase. We expect that the MAP price of the EOS 5D Mark IV will be increasing by $200, next Sunday. There are several great deals available right now, beat the price increase and don’t miss out!

EOS 5D Mark IV Refurbished for $2799.20 (First Time Seen!)

The Canon Direct Store has made the EOS 5D Mark IV available refurbished for the very first time. This popular camera is priced at $2799.20. Refurbished items from the Canon store come with a 1-year Canon USA warranty, but unfortunately the Canon store does charge tax to most states.

We’re surprised at how early this camera has been made refurbished, only 10 months after its launch. This is the second high-end body to be made available in the last month, with the EOS-1D X Mark II Refurbished for $4799.20 recently being released, it has been very popular.

Please also consider our street price of $2999, brand new, with no state sales tax collected. We are expecting the street price to increase in one to two weeks, so this price will not last.

Refurbished Sale: 10%-Off Lenses at Canon Direct Store, Until July 5th

Check out our refurb stock tracker to see all items that are currently in-stock, and get notified about restocks.
