B&H DealZone: Ruggard DSLR Parka Cold and Rain Protector, $39.95

Today’s B&H DealZone (one-day deal) features the Ruggard DSLR Parka Cold and Rain Protector for Cameras and Camcorders (Black) for only $39.95. Save 50% from the regular price of $80.

This accessory is great if you often shoot with a DSLR camera or select camcorder in cold or wet weather. The Parka will accommodate an up to 400mm lens with hood and a speedlight. The water-resistant and windproof nylon outer shell and thick cotton batting help keep your hands and camera warm and protected, while still having full access to camera controls.

Kickstarter: Ultimate Lens Hood 2.0 for Shooting Through Glass, $22

Another useful new product seen on Kickstarter: the Ultimate Lens Hood (ULH) 2.0 solves the age-old problem of unwanted glare or reflection when shooting through glass, with a soft silicone lens hood.

The wide end of the hood makes a nice seal with the glass, eliminating reflections caused by stray light. The narrow end of the hood stretches to fit many lenses — with a 50mm opening, it’s perfect for kit lenses (like the 18-55 or 75-300) all the way up to 82mm filter thread ‘pro lenses’.

An impressive product, but its best feature is the price: pledge only £17 (about $22 USD) to receive the “ULHgo” (fitting DSLRs and mirrorless cameras). Pledge £27 (about $34 USD) to receive both the DSLR and smartphone version of the lens hood — expected to ship in October. Less than 100 spots are left!

It’s already a super-successful campaign with over $160K pledged by 5000+ backers.
