B&H DealZone: Impact Luxbanx Duo Strip Softbox $54.95, Free Grid

Today’s B&H DealZone (one-day deal) features a hot deal on the Impact Luxbanx Duo Small Strip Softbox (12 x 36″). It’s only $54.95 (reg. $190), and includes a free fabric grid ($67.95 value)!

The Luxbanx Duo Small Strip Softbox from Impact works with strobe, LED, and fluorescent lights. The long, narrow shape of the softbox make it ideal for side-lighting and hair-lighting in portraiture, tabletop work, and up-lighting backgrounds.

Amazon EOS R6 Listing Now Says “Usually Ships Within 1-2 Months”

Amazon is usually a great bellwether for the stock and popularity of new equipment, as they give a detailed shipping estimate. They’re now showing that new orders for the EOS R6 (at $2499.00) “usually ship within 1-2 months”. The specific delivery estimates depend on location, and range from late-September to mid-October.

This implies that a second shipment of R6 is not expected until late-September, with a third in October, and dealers are still unsure if the second shipment will have enough bodies to cover all existing orders.

This is likely a better situation than the EOS R5 which is now showing no delivery estimate (was previously 2-5 weeks). It may be months before we see that camera in-stock and available.

K&F Concept EF to EOS R Mount Adapter, $31.99 (via Amazon)

There’s currently a major Canon EF-EOS R adapter shortage — but some affordable 3rd party alternatives are making their way to market. K&F Concept via Amazon has the K&F Concept Lens Mount Adapter for EF Lens to EOS R Camera Body for only $31.99. This is sold by K&F Concept and shipped by Amazon.

They indicate this adapter is made with a copper aluminum alloy, and supports full manual control, manual focusing, aperture priority, and infinity focus. A limited quantity is available.

At this great price you could buy one of these adapters plus a Canon adapter (when back in-stock at $99), and still be less than the $165 current asking price.

NOTE: This adapter doesn’t seem to support auto-focus, which isn’t very clear from the description. Auto-focus adapters are going for $49, $57, $58, or $76, with mixed reviews. Luckily everything (including the K&F Concept adapter) are all “Free Return”, so you can buy and try them with little risk.

Looking for EOS R6 Body-Only? Split a Kit Today, get R6 for $2534 Net

If you’re trying to find that elusive, out-of-stock, EOS R6 body-only, note that you can split a kit to get it for as low as $2534!

First, start with the EOS R6 with RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM — our street price is $2749 (limited stock left). Alternatively, B&H and Adorama are showing stock at $2799.

The included RF 24-105 STM lens is fantastic and regularly retails for $399, but you can very easily sell the lens. For example, used dealer mpb.com is currently offering $215 for the lens, and they pay for shipping. This brings the cost of acquiring the kit pretty close to the body-only price with zero risk (but be sure to lock in your quote now before the used offers change).

As an added bonus, if you do not own RF lenses you can use the RF 24-105 STM first to test out the camera (especially given that the EF-EOS R mount adapters are in such short supply), then sell it.

Kickstarter: Universal Lens Hood from KUVRD, Fits Any Circular Filter

The folks at KUVRD have launched a new Kickstarter campaign for an innovative new product: the Universal Lens Hood is designed to fit any camera lens and hold any sized circular filter.

For a limited time they’re offering an Early Bird special — pledge $40 to receive a backer reward of 2 Universal Lens Hoods, with delivery expected this year. Check out their Kickstarter campaign today!
