Our friends at Peak Design have launched their 17th Kickstarter campaign: the Peak Design Field Bracket — camera-specific, modular L-brackets designed to add tripod versatility, built-in tracking, and additional functionality!

The heart of the platform is a precision-machined recycled-aluminum baseplate shaped specifically for each supported camera. Peak Design’s Field Latch mechanism lets photographers quickly attach, remove, or reposition. The bracket is Arca-compatible, preserves access to camera controls, ports, and battery, and integrates with Peak Design Capture clips and camera straps.

You can expand the system with an optional Beacon Finder Tag that works with both Apple Find My and Google Find Hub. You can also replace the upright with a Cheese Plate with various cold-shoe mounting points, or add the optional Hand Strap for more secure handheld shooting.

Check out the Peak Design Field Bracket Kickstarter campaign—pledges with rewards begin at $125, about a 17% savings from the expected $149.95 MSRP. A bundle containing the Field Bracket and accessories is available to early backers for $199, compared with an expected retail value of $269.80. Camera-specific versions are initially available for select Canon, Fujifilm, Leica, Nikon, and Sony cameras.

As with all Kickstarter campaigns, there is always a risk that creators will not be able to fulfill the rewards of the pledge. The company behind this campaign has a history of delivering successful campaigns, so the risk is lower (but never zero). Pledge at your own risk!
