Beware — Synology is requiring you to use their branded drives (which are considerably more expensive than other options).
So what you save on the device (which let’s face it, is grossly underpowered for the cost — with the tradeoff that it’s turnkey)….you’re spending way more on official drives.
Synology has removed drive restrictions with their DSM 7.3 release.
