When Will the Canon Store Black Friday Refurbished Sale Start?

The most anticipated sale of the year is the Canon Store‘s November extravaganza. We expect blowout deals across the full line-up of RF and EF cameras and lenses, and many items will sell out quickly. But when will it start?

We don’t know for sure, but based on past years, we expect the sale to begin on Black Friday (November 29th) at midnight Eastern Time, but it could possibly be on Cyber Monday (December 2nd). In the last few years, the sale has started on those dates!

The best way to not miss the Canon Store sale is to subscribe to our site. We’ll send you an email when the deals begin. Or, you can watch our site after midnight on the above days!

If you purchase something through a link on our site, we may get a small share of the sale (at no cost to you). Please read our disclosure for more info.

Does anyone know if the Black Friday sale is only for refurbished lens/cameras, or do they also have great sales on brand new lenses too?

Since this is for a Refurbished sale, the sale will only be on refurbished items.

I see… thank you very much! I’m waiting for a nice deal for a RF 100-500mm but still not decided if I want it refurbished or brand new with a good discount… I’m worried about the refurbished lenses having some scratches…

I got the 100-500 at last year’s refurbished BF sale. Incredible value. I’ve never had a issue with Canon’s refurbished lenses—I could not distinguish them from new, expect that they did not come in the original packaging. I once did have an issue with an IS binoculars, and I promptly returned for a full refund.

There’s nothing to worry about a refurb lens. It won’t have any scratches, certainly not on the lens anyway. These come from directly from Canon (hence, the Canon Direct Store), and have all been thoroughly examined and cleaned. I have bought several refurbished L lenses and 2 camera bodies from Canon over the past 10 years, and they all arrive in essentially brand-new or better-than-brand-new condition. You just don’t get the fancy box that brand new retail purchases come with.

The refurb sale price alone makes it all worth it, especially when some refurb lenses and bodies were going for 40-60% off brand new pricing last year! I got the RF 24-70 f2.8L that way, with a price too good to pass up. And, with the discontinuing of several EF lenses, you can generally score a pretty good deal on anything other than the Big Whites.

Thank you very much for the info! This is my first time buying a refurbished lens from Canon. I was very happy to get a %20 trade up discount for my new R5 mark 2 last month (my first mirrorless camera). If I could get a great deal on the RF 100-500mm that would be a home run.

I guess I will try yo get a refurbished lens based on your experience. Thank you very much!

Thanks gents for the heads up. If it is possible, could you create a list of the best prices ever seen on refurbished items so we know how good the Black Friday deals are relative to history. Cheers

        My $0.02:

Don’t worry about whether or not it’s the “best ever price”. The prices can fluctuate due to supply/demand and other reasons you can’t see.

The refurb price on Black Friday will likely the be the lowest for some time. If you want the lens and it’s in-stock refurbished on Black Friday, just buy it — they WILL sell out quickly.

Hah, the person who created that spreadsheet mentioned on Reddit that they got the data from CPW 🙂 full circle.

Mark my word, there will be lots of brand new R6 Mark II and R3 being sold as refurbs at serious discount, so bring a big bag, you will be thankful you did.

Well, I waited until the 12:00 EST and something odd occurred. Prior to 12:00 the price for the refurbished 5D Mark IV was $1,619 and after that time the price rose to $2,069. The price of a new 5D Mark IV was LESS @ $1,799
