Leofoto Tripods — Their Tripod Line-Up, Explained! (35%-Off Sale)

Leofoto USA continues to discount their popular tripods and accessories by a total of 35% when you stack a 10%-off site-wide sale with coupon code “HAPPY25”. This sale appears to apply to every item in their store.

Many readers have asked how to make sense of their expansive line-up of tripods (we see over 200 tripods and monopods available in their store).

The first two digits of the tripod model number indicates the “series”:

  • LQ – Mr.Q series – interchangeable apex or center column platform
  • LP – Poseidon series – waterproof legs — intended for working in or near water
  • LX – Urban series – compact and lightweight
  • LM – Summit series – maximum stability, for larger, heavier cameras and lenses
  • LS – Ranger series – all-purpose lightweight, compact tripod
  • LN – Mountain series – rugged tripod for rougher work
  • LO – Mr.O series – adjustable (and reversible) center columns

The next two digits in the tripod model code indicate the (thickest) diameter of the leg, and the third digit indicates the number of sections. Thus, an LM-404C tripod is a 40mm diameter 4-section Summit-series tripod. A trailing “C” indicates carbon fiber.

They stand by their tripods with a 10-year limited warranty. Remember to add the coupon code “HAPPY25” to stack your 25% savings, in-cart. Leofoto USA is the official website for Leofoto products in the United States, and all orders are processed and shipped from their local warehouse in New Orleans, Louisiana.

And if anyone is on the fence about any Leofoto stuff, check out the accessories. There are some handy tripod tools that also on sale and are worth picking up.

It didn’t stack for me, so I “only” got 25% off. I went through with my purchase anyway. Still seemed like a good price on what I was looking at.

That’s because the sale doesn’t actually add up to 35%. The additional 25% off with the coupon code comes from the price after the first 10% is applied. So, for example, if you were to purchase a $100 tripod, the 10% off would make it $90. The 25% off would then come off that $90 sale price, not the initial $100 MSRP. So your final sale price on that tripod would be $67.50. But if the coupon code and sale price added up to 36% off, the final sale price would be $65.

Regardless, it’s still a great sale on quality products that are rarely on sale.

I don’t know why that didn’t occur to me. I’ll blame my poor math on it being 3AM. Everything looks right on my receipt. I did pick up a tripod tool because of your suggestion.
