Our street price deal on the Canon BG-E22 Battery Grip for EOS R has a secret feature: it includes a free Canon PD-E1 USB Power Adapter. This high-power USB charger retails for $139 and is the official accessory for in-camera (and in-grip) charging of LP-E6N/E6NH batteries in the EOS R, EOS R5, or EOS R6.
You get both the BG-E22 battery grip for EOS R as well as the PD-E1 charger ($139 value) when you purchase at our street price of $159. Compare with a regular price of $249 seen at other dealers.
Please note the battery grip itself is NOT compatible with the EOS R5/R6.
If you don’t want the BG-E22 grip but want to keep the charger, mpb and KEH are offering $85 and $94 respectively for the grip at this time. That can bring the price of the charger to as low as $65.
I don’t understand, this thing is just a USB-C charger ? why don’t we share a usb-c charger with phone? not gonna work?
Any PD USB-C charger will work.
Important to note that THIS charger will not power the camera indefinitely. I was doing video with my R using this charger and starting with a fully charged battery. Battery slowly drained and the camera shut down after about 3 hours of use.
Camera was just providing pass through to external video recorder. I ended up buying an actual AC adapter with a dummy battery.
Really great deal. I ordered it when it first showed up on CPW and delivery to Florida took 10 days. (Seller did remark in an email that they were experiencing some delays in delivery times due to pandemic, etc.
