Elzle via Amazon is featuring (as a limited time deal) the Elzle 2 Pack LP-E6 2000mAh Battery and Rapid Dual USB Battery Charger for only $10.51. This is sold by Elzle and Fulfilled by Amazon.
We’ve never heard of this brand before, but this price is incredible, vs. the $25-30 price of comparable options from other 3rd parties. They have limited reviews, but very positive (average 4.8 stars out of 5).
Currently unavailable is the status on Amazon’s site.
I haven’t found a 3rd party brand which lasts as long in terms of number of shots or longevity as oem in spite of purported higher capacities. Ravpower seems ok, and don’t fade after a few charging cycles but even they don’t deliver as many shots.
ordered but sent mine back… note the battery seemed to work okay (charged, powered up camera and used it for several dozen shots – unsure about longevity), but the charger is really bare bones and took forever to charge the packs.
However, the bigger concern to me is that it appears this manufacturer “elzle” made a simple clone of the “smart” chip Canon, as both batteries displayed the same embedded serial number. If using one pack at a time, this most likely would go unnoticed, but loading two packs into the grip introduces challenges for the camera to determine the number of shots taken on each because it can’t tell the two batteries apart (e.g. the charge level and shot count will be incorrect).
