Tamron SP 35mm f/1.4 USD for $699, with Free USB Dock (reg. $899)

Tamron lowered the price of the recently available Tamron SP 35mm f/1.4 Di USD Lens for Canon EF by $200, via an instant rebate! Adorama has the best deal of the lot, as they’re also throwing in a free Tamron TAP-IN Console, a $59 value. The total price of the lens and console is $699.00.

This is the first time we’ve seen this lens discounted since its introduction last summer at a price of $899. Do not confuse this lens with the more affordable Tamron SP 35mm f/1.8.

How come this is an offer to mention? Every other site is selling this at $699 and BestBuy is selling this at $599. Even if you buy the tap-in console additionally then still less than $699. Please check the prices before posting as a deal.

As far as I can tell, bestbuy is only selling the f/1.8 version for $599. If you can find a link to the f/1.4 version, please let me know, I would buy it in a heartbeat for that price.

Exactly — the commenter is confusing the f/1.8 and f/1.4 versions of this lens.

I guess those in glass houses should check their lens models before throwing stones.

This was $899 last week, this is the first discount seen yet on this lens. Best Buy is listing the f/1.8, not the f/1.4. These are two different lenses, please look at the products carefully next time.

Wrong lens you are referring to. Please check the lens in description before posting a comment. 😉

Tamron, not to mention many users are saying this is the best 35 on the market. I’m sure it’s the best for the money, I haven’t done a side by side with the usual heavy hitters. However the 1.8 is no slouch and if this is better in the numerous ways as marketed, it’s something to take a long hard look at.

I’ve heard a lot of people say that too. I have the Sigma Art 35mm, and can attest that it’s exceptional. All their Art primes are, at least that I have used. I would bet the Tamron deserves it’s praise, but I feel like claims of “best” are likely subjective. I would love to try one out for a bit, but not while I can’t really do anything due to the lockdown.

There are two groups of FF ART lenses. Earlier renditions with the older AF motor and the newer group. The difference is night and day. On my 5D3 the OG ART 35 was one of the worst focusing lenses. I’d take a nifty fifty over that. However with the 24-35 ART and up they are much improved. IQ is only one aspect. This Tammy seems to have it all. My friend tells me it focuses as fast as his EF 35 L ll
