We don’t know which hard drives are inside this enclosure, but WD hard drive deals have been especially popular because WD has in the past used either “Red” or “White” 8 TB Western Digital hard drives inside these external drive enclosures. With previous models, the drives could be removed from the enclosure and used in a NAS, for significant savings over buying the ‘bare’ drives alone.

Seagate is what is in my PC, but I prefer WD for external. Have had better luck with the backup software. Something to point out to ya’ll, remember that a backup means something is saved in more than one place. If you only save it to this drive, then you are at the mercy of the drive failing and losing your data. Also, this is not a perfect backup either, as it does not save you from corruption. If the data goes corrupt on the disk there is a good chance it is corrupt on the backup as well.
