Pretty sweet deal. This is the camera I typically suggest to people as a first dslr. Good fearures, good quality photos with appropriate glass, and good for video/vlogging since it has all the appropriate features, minus 4k of coarse (flip screen, dpaf, mic jack). The compact size makes it nice too, and I just like it better than bottom line entry level bodies like the T6 and upcoming T7. It’s got enough features to make easy to learn while still being relevant long after you’ve mastered the basics.
I do have to say though, I think the mirrorless game is about to blow up. The M50’s 4k specs might be disappointing, but as a hd vlogging camera it will be just as good as the sL2, and be a superior stills camera with eye focus, evf, and that neat little auto-DL to phone feature. Looking outside Canon, it’s just the way the industry is moving. But, Dslrs like the SL2 are still much cheaper though. I still wouldn’t hesitate to suggest the SL2 to a begginer. For people moving into hobbyists/enthusiast territory, it might be better to wait and see what happens with mirrorless across the market as a whole over the next year.
Saw this yesterday. Looked like a great deal considering the new price is $550 or so. My daughter loves her SL2. Sold out within a couple of hours after you posted it. Bought 2 of them just in time!
