redtagcamera via eBay has the Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM for Canon (grey market) for only $249.95, when you apply coupon code “PRESDAY” at checkout.
This is a great deal for this crop-sensor, optically-stabilized lens, which already delivers terrific value. Please note this not an authorized Sigma USA dealer, so you do not get the Sigma USA warranty. However, at this price, you probably can’t go wrong. This lens usually retails for $369.
What a good deal! All you Rebel users out there looking for some better low light performance in a zoom lens that will run circles around your 18-55mm kit lens, this is it. For that matter, anyone using any APS-C Canon would do well to pick this up (I think the Rebels cover most that field). Not sure how it performs on MFT with the adaptor though, so I can’t advise there. I think it even fits on full frame cameras too, though it is not optimized for use on those cameras (heavy vignette, and I would bet it loses sharpness due to the placement of the rear element).
Not as sharp as the Canon 17-55mm F2.8, or as fast at focusing, but that lens is 800 compared to the 250 of this lens. At this price you can’t go wrong. The next best option is going to be a pair of primes like the 50mm F1.8 and the 24mm F2.8, which together cost more than this will and have the inconvenience of changing lenses. The 50mm will still be better for DOF portraits, but from the right distance this will do well too.
Too bad about the warranty though, even so, if I didn’t already have the 17-55mm F2.8 I would likely pull the trigger here.
I have one, it works great on an 80d. It cuts off the corners through the entire range on my 6dmkII(it does fit).
Remember this lens cannot be adjusted using the Sigma USB Dock and there seems to be a lot of variation between different samples of this lens. For that reason paying $369 for a US version and being able to get Sigma to make it “perfect” might be a better option than the $249 grey version unless there is a decent return policy on this deal.
This is for a crop sensor only.
Technically sigma dc mounts will fit on full frame; they don’t make a different mount for crop and ff. But the glass is made for crop sensors, so on ff you will have heavy vignetting and uncorrectably dark corners.
One use I’ve heard of someone doing is they use this on a 5d4 in 4k mode since the crop is so big. But I don’t know how well it performs like that.

Is this the one you have?
No, but it’s an affordable alternative.
