Hot, Lowest Yet: Tamron SP 150-600mm VC for $679 BuyDig via eBay

Authorized Tamron USA dealer BuyDig via eBay has the Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD for Canon for only $679.00. This is the lowest price we’ve seen yet for this lens, from an authorized Tamron USA dealer.

Canon, Nikon, and Sony mounts are available. One caveat is the listing states the items are “Dented Box” condition. In previous “open box” or “dented box” sales, readers have reported receiving brand new, unopened items with perfect boxes. We expect this may just be a method to get around Tamron’s MAP restrictions.

Free shipping. The shipping estimate suggests it will ship this week (even with the Passover closing.)

    Bought it!
And Thanks a lot! I have been drooling at this lens for a couple of years…today’s price pushed me over!
I wonder if the $80 rebate which is currently on will work on this…..they are an authorized Tamron USA dealer

The $80 is an instant savings (dealer rebate), not a mail-in rebate.

So tempting… I have no use for this lens and no time to use it, but for that price I still want to buy it…

Jody Maurine Kemble Jarvis – I don’t know if you’ve ever had any interest in wildlife/outdoor sport photography, but this is a sweet deal!

  4. April 26, 2016 at 9:43 am EDT

What type of shots it takes . Are they sharp

    1. April 26, 2016 at 10:02 am EDT

They’re sharp for most people. Not as sharp as the Canon 100-400 ISL USM II, but the 150-600 has more range.

It is not THAT sharp at the tele end and that’s where most are using this lens. The Sigma C is sharper at the long end and the Tammy is better mid zoom about 400. The Tamron has more CA and pincushion and the Sigma has more vignetting. It’s a trade off but really, why are people buying this? It’s a cheap way to get to 600 on a FF. You might be better off with a truly sharp 400 such as the 400 f/5.6 and cropping.

    4. April 28, 2016 at 4:09 am EDT

The Tammy’s sweet spot is somewhere between 370mm and 430mm. At 400mm it is as sharp as the Canon 100-400mm. Unless you are still learning to handle it. Probably the EF 400mm 5.6 is sharper than the Tammy cause its a prime lens. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10154076992238665&set=pcb.10154076992363665&type=3&theater

I called the dealer, he said it was a special that E-bay had going on. Once a certain number were sold, they discontinue the sale. yea, right I thoought.

    3. April 27, 2016 at 6:59 am EDT

They sold 150 at this price. They’re probably out of stock now.

  9. April 26, 2016 at 1:36 pm EDT

Price went back up to 989.00

    Missed the deal… very sad…

  14. April 26, 2016 at 5:53 pm EDT

Thats the correct price! They’re not permitted to sell it any lower!

    1. April 27, 2016 at 7:04 am EDT

Manufacturer restrictions stop a dealer from advertising below a certain price. They cannot, however, restrict the actual selling price of the item.

    2. April 27, 2016 at 8:08 am EDT

      MAP pricing

    3. April 27, 2016 at 8:21 am EDT

MAP only restricts the advertised price, not the selling price.

    4. April 27, 2016 at 8:28 am EDT

Correct. This was an example of MAP policies being enforced! Good for Tamron! Other manufacturers should follow suit!

    5. April 27, 2016 at 8:32 pm EDT

I understand now why you like MAP so much — Ted L. Ray, I see you work for a camera store. 🙂

    6. April 27, 2016 at 8:38 pm EDT

      Yep! 🙂

Thanks guys! Shipped out today, so no delays.

  17. April 26, 2016 at 10:27 pm EDT

Should not be allowed to scam buyers like this. Disgusting CPW!

    1. April 27, 2016 at 7:00 am EDT

Hardly a scam, they had this price for about 6 hours and over 150 were sold. Good deals do not last for very long.

    2. April 27, 2016 at 7:05 am EDT

Where does it say, limited time or numbers? I found it most upsetting when you see $679, and when you get to the site $998?

      1. Mike Z
        April 27, 2016 at 9:21 pm EDT

You’ve got to be kidding. Any sale is going to have a quantity available to sell and when they are gone they are gone. Besides, CPW just alerts people when a lens is available at a given price somewhere. They don’t control stock, the seller does, and they clearly show on their listings how many get sold and how many remain.

    3. April 27, 2016 at 7:19 am EDT

You can generally assume that every camera deal is limited time and limited quantities. Sorry, but we don’t control the prices; the retailer does. On our main blog page we have an indicator that shows if the deal is still active, but we cannot update Facebook every time something goes out of stock.

I paid $679.00 for the lens through this deal and I received my lens today with the six year USA limited warranty! Not a scam!!!

Thank you CPW! I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of this lens. Because of you guys, I have saved so much money replenishing my camera gear (I accidentally left my camera bag in a cab in Chicago). Keep up the great work!

Just received mine. Item description stated it would have a dented box, but there wasn’t a nick on it. Thank you CPW for your notification service, I probably never would have afforded this otherwise.
