Oh, no. No way I am ever again using the rebate bait. Canon rebates are outright SCAM.
Not sure what your issue was, but the vast majority of readers report no problem with the mail-in rebates. It also pays to follow-up using their online submission tracker to ensure your rebate is progressing properly, and if there are any issues, they are usually rectified with a quick phone call.
OK I owe Canon an apology. After a few calls and emails they finally processed my rebate application which they kept on “Program Violation” for no good reason. They’ve now approved the payment. Nevertheless, I maintain the entire Canon rebate process is a hassle… Glad that other people here had no problems with their mail-in rebates.
I’ve received Canon rebates several times on purchases through canonpricewatch.com and never had a problem. There is nothing remotely SCAM-like about them.
I have always tried the rebates and they are 100% solid unless you missed a step, but you can always correct it before the deadline.
