We’re now seeing some incredible price drops on both the EOS 5Ds R and the EOS 5Ds in the grey market:
Get It Digital via eBay has the Canon EOS 5Ds R for $3149.00 and the Canon EOS 5Ds for $2649.99. These are the lowest prices we’ve seen yet for these cameras. Compare with $3899 and $3699 at authorized dealers, respectively.
Get It Digital via eBay is not an authorized dealer and a Canon USA warranty is not guaranteed. Canon USA has been known to provide warranty service to grey bodies — but only at their discretion. Also, please be aware of an upsell call — stay firm and decline all upgrades. If you prefer an authorized dealer, please consider our EOS 5DsR street price of $3249, with a 1-year Canon USA warranty and free shipping.
Dang, if only I had the money.
Your better off with a mark III unless you want terrible low light performance. Beside man it’s grey market! No warranty or support from Canon should you ever need it, sure you might save a grand but if that camera fails you up sh*t creak without a paddle.
I’m wondering with these price drops, what the cause is… lack luster demand… or just greed on the initial pricing
It’s a combination of all the above. Low demand, high initial pricing, and foreign exchange rate fluctuations (we are talking about grey market imports here).
What has been the overall experience with this eBay seller? Are they legit? No phone calls saying that I need a battery charger and such?
Please read the post carefully. They are legit, however, they will give you an upsell call (claiming your body is not a USA model). Disregard their upsell and stay firm, and they will process your order at the stated price.
