Sneak Peek: Amazon Prime Day Deals for Canon Photographers

More info is now available on the Amazon Prime Day, including a partial list of the Canon-related photography items that will be featured. See below for a list of some of the items we’re expecting to see go on sale, and the time we expect them to be featured (in Eastern timezone.)

As expected we do not see any Canon items on the list — they are likely still restricted by the Canon Minimum Advertised Price policy. There may be good deals on accessories, bags, and third-party lenses (such as Rokinon.) We hope there are a lot more than this list, as so far it’s looking quite sparse.

As the deals are restricted to Amazon Prime members only, so now would be a good time to sign-up for a free 30-day trial of Prime if you haven’t yet already.

You can browse all all the Amazon Prime Day deals here. Check often, as you can only see deals for the next 4 hours via that link.

If you purchase something through a link on our site, we may get a small share of the sale (at no cost to you). Please read our disclosure for more info.

Agreed. Lots of low-end items in general thus far. Well, I guess we’ll have to wait and see…

The deal doesn’t start until 11:50 AM (later today). We don’t know what the price will be yet.

Sony flash cards are already sold out, guess the time was wrong on those.

Looks like a B+W filter is going on sale in an hour though.

Hmmm, the link to the 30-day free trial simply sends me to the $99 sign-up page. ????

Going to Amazon’s own “Help” page and navigating to the Prime Free Trial link only carries me to the standard $99 Prime subscription page. Although the page in the Help section says to click on the “Start my free trial” link there is no such link…only what appears to be a link to purchase Prime for $99. Is there a built-in 30-day “free” period in the standard sign-up? With the absence of the “free trial” link that they tell you to click on I am hesitant to sign up. 🙁

Ok, I got it figured out. Though they advertised that they would give free prime trial so everybody could access the sale they are limiting it to only people who haven’t used a trial in the last XX months…I used a free trial back last winter. They certainly didn’t specify this limitation in their propaganda both in advertising and in the media. Off to Wallyworld to see what pricing they are countering with…and to my Amazon cart and wish list t purge it.

if you could sign up for an unlimited number of free trials why would anyone ever buy it?

  9. July 15, 2015 at 9:20 am EDT

Very true, Adam. But, in response to Walmart pointing out that Amazon was restricting the sale to Prime Members only, Bob Greeley, the vp of Amazon Prime, stated that customers who aren’t Prime members can participate in Amazon’s sale by signing up for the free 30-day trial of Prime membership…he did not exclude anyone (such as previous trial users) in his statement.
