Street Price Drop: 6D+24-105L $1829 AR, 5D3+24-105L $2999 AR

We’re pleased to report yet another street price drop in full-frame kits that include the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens. The prices are now $40-$50 lower than the recent drop.

Street price orders are guaranteed to arrive in-time for Christmas with free shipping if ordered by TOMORROW.

These are the new lowest-ever prices from an authorized dealer for these items, after the $300 Canon mail-in rebate. (You can also check out the 5D Mark III kits + printer at B&H or Adorama.)

The following two lens street prices continue to be our most popular.

No surprise, as those are the best prices we’ve seen in a year. See all the street price deals.

Do we need to go thru you to get this deal? Also, I see Adorama offers a kit with a 32g card and bag for the same price on their site. Can they be talked into making that happen? Thanks

The Adorama kit, which is the one that we linked in the web-site version of this post, requires the purchase of a PIXMA PRO-100 printer and an additional $350 rebate. I’d suggest the printer bundle if you actually want the printer, or street price if you don’t.

How about the 6D body only and 5D3 body only.

No further drop (since last week’s drop). Still $1339 AR and $2469 AR respectively.

Sure would be nice to see further drops on the single bodies (5D3 is what I’m looking at)…..are the current street prices as good as last year’s holiday sales or were last year’s holiday discounts better? I bought my 70-200 II last year 3 days before xmas since the price was too good to pass up; trying to remember whether there was any last minute great sales.

The 5D Mark III and 6D are much lower than last year (as expected with bodies). The lens prices are within $50, but keep in mind this year is significantly different in terms of what sort of pricing is available.

Last year there was no minimum advertised price, and prices began spiralling downwards starting in October as retailers were conducting price wars with each other. By December the prices were extremely low. Also, retailers were using platforms such as eBay which further subsidize deals to get even better deals than otherwise possible based on their normal cost structure.

This year there has been strict price control — B&H and Adorama and every major store is pricing at MAP on their websites, and all the “price drops” have been manufactured by Canon this year.

I really don’t think it’s possible for Canon to drop the price for the third time this year (although, I didn’t think it was possible for them to drop it the second time…)

Placing my order in 2 days. This is even better news if the deal lasts – another $40 saved on the 6D and 24-105 f/4L. These prices have already convinced me to skip the 7DMkII and go for full frame. If this keeps up, that 5DMkIII is almost within reach. Is there any news on the 6DMkII that’s rumored for early next year? Is Canon trying to offload the older model FFs before that release or is this just a reaction to the flood of cheaper grey market versions?

The price drop seems to be a reaction to 1) the grey market sales that totally trumped authorized dealer deals over Thanksgiving week, and 2) pressure from Nikon’s latest instant rebates.

Thank you for the quick answer and for the site/service. I have too much Canon glass to jump ship so I haven’t really followed Nikon but it seems like several factors combining to make for some great deals this month! Thanks again.
