Adorama via eBay has the Drobo 5N 5-Bay NAS Storage Array with Gigabit Ethernet for $359.99. This is the absolute lowest price we’ve ever seen for it!
This is a good deal for someone looking to get a 5-bay redundant network-attached storage array. We have been fans of Drobo ever since we survived three hard drive failures with all our files intact!

The 5N has been on my AMAZON wish list for months now, and they always sell their last in stock for $30 off at $449, so when I saw this deal I hopped right on it and bought the crucial 128gb m550 msata card as well. This is a steal
this is a great deal considering the drop in hard drive prices now. Does anyone have any personal experience regarding the changing of the hard drive aside from failures; like upgrading the hard drives? Thanks.
I do, on my previous generation Drobo. I swapped the 1.5TB drives that I originally had in my Drobo FS with 3.0 TB (WD Red) drives. It’s pretty seamless to upgrade capacity. Just pull out one of the drives, and the array re-builds to tolerate not having it, then put in a new drive. The only complaint is it takes a long time to rebuild the redundancy, anywhere from 12 to 36 hours.
I also have double redundancy turned on, which saved our bacon, big time…
