eBay Frenzy: EOS 6D for $1349 (Import) at BigValueInc

Today’s eBay frenzy deal is another great deal from BigValueInc. They have the Canon EOS 6D for $1349.99. This ties for the lowest price seen for this body new (note this is likely import version, but has WiFi and GPS).

BigValueInc is a reputable unauthorized dealer who has been a source of reliable deals over the last few years. They have a 98.9% feedback score on high-value Canon items.

This is an import version (physically identical to the US model, but not intended for the US market). A Canon USA warranty is not guaranteed, so the store provides a warranty instead. If you instead prefer an authorized USA dealer with full Canon USA warranty, consider our street price of $1439 AR from an authorized dealer, only $90 more (but please note we’re unable to get the street price order shipped until next week, due to the store closings).

If this is the price they’re putting up now, I can’t wait to see what they do for Black Friday along with Canon and their refurbished sale.

Are the street price companies already on Holiday? I am ready to order but haven’t heard back from them.

Hi Jackie, I will follow up with the store for you now.

I’ve sent an e-mail to the store CC’ing you. Let me know if that doesn’t work.

This is a fantastic deal (I use a 6D @ work and would love to add it as a secondary personal camera to my 5D3 at home.). However, I’m also on the fence between this and the 7D2. I doubt there will be many (if any) Black Friday deals for the 7D2, as the holiday will be so close to its release, but only time will tell. On a side note, just use a bit of caution with BigValueInc. I actually purchased my 5D3 through them during Black Friday 2012 ($2886 body-only). I ran into the warranty card issue, and their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. However, their prices are pretty darned good.

BigValueInc is not an authorized reseller, so having the warranty card is a moot point. Regarding the 7DII, it’s a crop-sensor body which is a deal-breaker for me. I just jumped on this deal do I’ll have a second body to compliment my 5DIII. 🙂

As tempting as this price is…. the whole lure of waiting to see what Black Friday prices look like is what is preventing me from buying now. What to do, what to do!!!

Any rumors on new bodies coming out? I feel like canon HAS to drop more than the 7d mark II by Xmas. I want to buy something soon. I know as soon as I do a 5d mark4 will drop or something.

    1. October 7, 2014 at 1:27 pm EST

7DMII should be available by Thanksgiving/end of November. Not sure anything else will come out before the end of 2014.

    2. October 7, 2014 at 1:57 pm EST

Yeah, I’m split between that and the 5d mark III. I know as soon as I buy one there will be something better.

    3. October 7, 2014 at 3:31 pm EST

I’ve seen rumors about a 5DM4 first or second quarter next year but I have my doubts.

I had the same concerns myself. I have the 5D3 and need a second/backup body. I want to wait for the 5D4 which will probably be available in 6 months to a year. But, I ended up jumping on this deal for the 6D. If a 5D4 is available in 6 months, then I’ll sell the 6D and snatch up the new camera.

Have there truly been great savings on high end cameras on past black fridays

Good question. I’ve been wondering that myself. I’d rather not wait to buy if the prices won’t be any lower for holiday sales. Any historical pricing data to go off of here? Can we expect to see lower prices with MAP still in place?

My prediction is we’ll see some small drops as we go into Black Friday on unauthorized dealer purchases. Maybe $1299 on 6D and $2499 on 5D3.

I don’t expect to see Canon break the MAP, so other than new rebates, I don’t expect lower prices from authorized dealers.

Every time I use this or many other sites like it to try and get a cheap import version of the 6D, for those that may not know, that is the version without GPS or WIFI, I get a call telling me they no longer have the ‘n’ version but they can offer a good deal on the ‘wg’ version, usually at or above market price.

The listing on eBay clearly says “Built-In Wi-Fi and GPS Connectivity”. If mine doesn’t have GPS then it’s going back.

    2. October 9, 2014 at 7:00 pm EST

You’re probably not buying from the right sites — reputable sellers selling through the eBay platform will not upsell you.

    3. October 10, 2014 at 11:33 am EST

I just took delivery of mine. Looks brand new, shutter count: 0. GPS and WiFi equipped. I’m VERY happy!!

  7. October 7, 2014 at 4:10 pm EST

When can we expect a price drop on the 5D MIII? I’m thinking about buying one but price hasn’t dropped enough to buy from an authorized dealer

    1. October 8, 2014 at 2:42 am EST

Probably in the first quarter of 2015 when the mark 4 is released

Just received mine. Brand new. Shutter count: 0. GPS and WiFi enabled. No warranty card (as advertised). I couldn’t be happier! 🙂
