The US dollar keeps on getting stronger (vs. the Canadian dollar), so this pre-order deal on the 7D Mark II keeps on getting better:
Camera Canada, a reputable Canadian authorized Canon dealer, has the EOS 7D Mark II and EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM for $2298 Canadian Dollars + shipping (approximately $2099.00 US dollars, given current exchange rates).
This is a fantastic deal because Canadian cameras have been historically supplied with a Canon USA & Canada warranty card that is valid for Canon USA warranty. As the 7D Mark II pre-orders for $1799 in the US, it is like getting the EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM for only $300. This is a lens that is regularly $999 (and that’s only after a recent $500 price drop).
Our readers report paying no tax, duty, or other custom fees when purchasing from Camera Canada. Click here to check out the deal at Camera Canada. Since this is a pre-order, you won’t be charged until your order ships (if you use a credit card), just place an order to be on their list. Please note the official price is $2298 Canadian dollars + shipping. We can’t predict where exchange rates will be in one month, as you aren’t billed until the item ships, but at today’s rates it is $2099 USD. Our readers report that Camera Canada has been open to billing in US dollars at the prevailing exchange rate, so you can ask them about this in November when it comes time to pay for the order.
This is an official pre-order deal that Canon is running exclusively in Canada. Also note, Canon Canada now requires everyone who is taking part in this offer to submit a form with a Canadian address, to prove that you are an end-consumer and not making large orders for re-sale. So you will need a Canadian address for Canon, but note that every store we’ve spoken to says they will still ship the purchase to an address of your choice (it doesn’t have to be the one on the form).
How can I order one with a Florida address?
Place the order at the store with a Florida address. You will need a Canadian address for a paper form that you will need to send to the store (so they can send it to Canon).
How do we get a canadian addrress? When we dont know anyone from canada.
Unfortunately, you will need a Canadian address. Do you know anyone who knows someone in Canada? 🙂
What paper form do I need to fill out for the Canadian address. I’m going to preorder it shipped to California.
Here’s a link to the form you’ll be asked to fill out:

Sorry for my previous comment, hit enter too soon. Here is the corrected version:
I’m confused as well. I seriously could make use of this combo, as I have a 6D that would welcome that 24-70, and I already have a 17-55 that would enjoy migrating from my 5-year-old 7D (which remains my action camera) to the Mark II.
But, so many questions:
1. How would I list a Canadian address if I know nobody in Canada?
2. If I am not charged until shipping, wouldn’t the exchange rate effective on that date apply, not today’s exchange rate?
3. How much would shipping be?
4. Wouldn’t I be potentially charged Foreign Transaction Fees?
Good questions, and sounds like this deal is made for you!
1. If you know absolutely nobody in Canada, I think you are out of luck. 🙁
2. That is correct. As noted in our post, you are not charged until shipping, so the final price depends on the exchange rate on the day of shipping. As of today, the price is approximately $2099 USD (incl. shipping).
3. Shipping is calculated in-cart and is either $29 or $39 CAD. (When we calculated our estimated total of $2099 USD, we included the shipping)
4. As noted in the post, the store is willing to bill you in US$ so that you will not pay Foreign Transaction Fees. You’ll have to ask the store to do this closer to the date of the transaction.
If you are ready to pull the trigger, do so with confidence. I ordered a 5D Mark iii from them with no issues, shipped quickly, came with US warranty cards.
So how can I preorder when I dont have a canadian address?
I believe the Canandian address in only needed for the “gift pack”
To do the bundle pre-order you need the Canadian address as well, but you don’t need to receive your camera/lens package there.
What is to stop someone from, hypothetically, giving any Canadian address on the form, and then taking delivery in the U.S.?
If one were, say, to fill in the address of the Toronto Blue Jays stadium on the form (assuming the person is not actually affiliated with the organization), then have the item shipped to their actual billing address, would that hold-up the purchase? Is there any validation of the address for the card / form?
This seems like a great deal, which I would jump on if it were offered in the States. I’d seriously consider astroturfing a Canadian address, if I knew it wouldn’t cause a problem.
I do not know what Canon Canada plans on doing with these Canadian addresses. I suppose it’s possible that they would verify that each and every address is real prior to allocating bundles to retailers, but that seems unlikely as it’s logistically challenging.
I assume the Canadian retailer Camera Canada will send out the camera body and lens to the provided USA addresses. Will they also have the ability to also send the gift pack to us, or does this process happen with CANON Canada?
Yes, the Canadian retailers will ship the camera body and lenses to the USA address. Unfortunately the gift pack (jacket) comes direct from Canon Canada and has to go to a Canadian address.
Does that mean if we forgo the gift pack (jacket, model camera, and phone case), we could get the camera body and lens deal?
Yes. As long as you have a Canadian address to put on the form, you can send the camera and lens to the US.
CPW, is there a reason you’re reposting this? It was originally posted back in Sept, has it changed? This is a confusing deal, but yes getting a Canadian address is the hard part for most. I’m told by the retailer that in the past Canon has not checked the addresses you submit on the form. There are two things you’ll need an address for, your shipping address for the camera store (can be from USA), and the form that is sent to Canon (must be from Canada). I’m not sure why you cant just locate a hotel address or like mentioned the Toronto Blue Jays stadium address as your Canadian address to submit on the form. Not sure why Canon would all of a sudden request Canadian addresses unless they actually planned to do something with them? Maybe to just “scare” off wholesalers wanting to buy the package and split and sell individually? I’m sure even 1000’s of orders they can have someone just google search the address and say yep, its a house, or nope its a warehouse. If they get many inquiries for the same address that would also be a trigger to deny orders. Also to note the form is for the jacket, etc deal. But to get that you’ll have to send back the UPC from the box.
I reposted this to bring more clarity to the fact that the form is needed now, and the deal has gotten about $50 better due to foreign exchange.
I have a Canadian address (several actually), but they are not of people I know personally. Would that actually matter for this deal?
