Canon Refurb Store: SL1 for $359, Pancake for $111

While we wait for a Canon Direct Store re-stock on refurbished lenses, a few other good refurbished deals:

They have the refurbished SL1 for $359.99 (after 25% off) and the 40mm Pancake for $111.99 (after 30% off). That makes a great light-weight walk-around kit.

As for refurbished lens restocks? This sale doesn’t end until August 16th. We are expecting one, maybe even two good restocks during this time. If the past is any indication, the restock will likely be in the afternoon (ET). As items will generally sell out within minutes (it’s quite impressive to watch), the absolutely best way to get in on a restock is via e-mail notification on a specific item. You can browse our refurb stock tracker to see what’s in-stock and get notified on out-of stock items (click the ‘Notify’ button on our tracker page). You can read our FAQ about the notification system.

It says, Pancake cannot be added to the cart!

This is a common refurb store issue. Try closing all your browser windows (this effectively clears your session cookies) and starting again.

I’m getting issues when I’m logged into my Canon account. I’d recommend checking out as a guest.

        This works!
I added the item to the shopping cart as guest. Then I checked out with my canon account (i.e., I logged in to check out)

The Rokinon 35mm on the front page at $402… Isn’t that the same lens as the bower 35mm that’s being sold on BH for $329?

I just purchased that bower lens. Good find!! Saved me $70.

Yes, it is the same. We don’t do a good job of tracking the 10 different names for the same lens in the case of Rokinon / Bower / Samyang / Bell+Howell / Opteka.

Returned my Rokinon for the bower. I think samyang is trying to clean up their inventory for the new 35mm with AF confirm chip that’s coming up. Thanks.

Finally jumped on the 40mm pancake. Couldn’t pass up this deal. Thanks, CPW!
