The Canon Direct Store sale was restocked about 45 minutes ago! They are offering 15% off refurbished lenses and flashes. The restock included 7 copies of the coveted 85L for $1495, but these seem to have quickly sold out.
You can see what else is in stock on the CanonPriceWatch Refurbished Stock Tracker. If the item you are interested in is still not in stock, or sold out, please sign-up for a specific notification on that item (click the ‘Notify’ buttons on the tracker page). There are quite a few people waiting for our notifications, and things quickly get sold out at every restock.
They are still offering the EOS 6D for $1291.32, after 15% off. This is a great deal — more than half of the available 6Ds have been bought; the sale began with 725 in-stock and is now down to 330 in just over five days.
There has been a trickle of EOS 5D Mark III at $2447.28 but these quickly sell out within a few minutes of every restock.
Question about Canon’s return policy on these 6D refurbs units.
Say someone purchases one and opens the box and checks shutter count and it in the high thousands, do you think they will return it? Or is this considered an “open” box now and they will not.
Refurbished items have a 14-day return policy as per Canon’s site, I think the boxes are not sealed so as long as you keep everything in pristine condition you should be okay with a return.
My 6d just arrived. It looked flawless. Shutter count = 25. It also has the latest firmware upgrade.
85L restocked two minutes ago. Two in stock. http://www.canonpricewatch.com/used/0000105799
Joline Richard this is a good place to watch for what you want
Thank you Lisa!!
I wonder why Canon has so many refurbished. Do that many new cameras have problems?
We actually don’t know where most refurbished items come from.
The current thinking is the majority of refurbished items are returns — if someone returns a body or lens and it’s not in pristine like-new condition, the retailer can’t resell it, and has to send it back to Canon for “refurbishment”.
They have so many returns because of the exact behavior described by the first poster. Someone buys a new camera body or lens, tries it out for a few days and then returns it. Retailer cannot sell it as new, canon reinspects it and sells it at a discount.
Exactly.
Thanks…that’s good to know!
Tempting but it seems waiting for a kit with the 24-105 is a better deal.
Anyone knows if there is a glitch with the 135mm?
CPW stock tracker is showing 5 available, however, when I click buy and I add it to my cart. At the begin checkout process, it dissapears.
It tells me that I dont have any items in my cart.
So frustrating.
Hi Lenin — and anyone else — please contact us through the contact form and we can help you with the 135L.
I always miss out on the 85L because they normally restock when I’m at work with my useless slow computer…
Gotta be fast! The most desired items sell in about 3-5 minutes usually.
