6th Ave via eBay has the Canon EOS 5D Mark III for $2559.99.
They are not an authorized dealer, but are a quite reputable unauthorized dealer with 99%+ positive feedback. In previous sales they have sold a mix of both US models as well as grey market models.
This is part of an eBay deal frenzy! The previous Canon deal in the frenzy (6D + 24-105mm) sold out in 30 minutes.
Still confused about unauthorized dealers vs. grey market? Check out our article about it.
Did you read their negative feedback?
They have 99% positive feedback; the majority of the negative feedback is regarding grey market. As I noted in my post, there’s a chance you’ll get grey market.
I read all the negative feedback and I would never buy from them. They have horrible comments- not just grey market. BTW, I like canonpricewatch.com! Thanks.
Thanks for the feedback. 🙂
Yeah, I’m too scared to get a grey market. I don’t even know why grey market really is, but it doesn’t sounds good! I 2nd that… Canonpricewatch.com rules!
We wrote an article on Gray Market, here you go: http://www.canonpricewatch.com/blog/authorized-unauthorized-dealers-and-grey-market-explained/
Think of it this way: at $2560 it is still cheaper than many private sales of bodies that are well outside the 1 year warranty. Plus, Canon might honor the warranty even if it is gray market. They are much better than Nikon in that regard.
Is this the lowest price ever??
Quite close — $2449 was the lowest ever, but that was a Black Friday door-crasher at 12 AM that sold out (300 bodies) in 90 minutes.
It’s also a quadruple-eBay-Bucks day (max $100), so net could be $2459.
FYI… If you don’t have an E-bay or Paypal account and you decide to create one for this purchase, don’t hold your breath. I’ve been on the phone with both of them for about 15 minutes and their security systems won’t let a new account buy a $2500 camera.
