Good news: Canon is following through on their rebate promises, and in record time. Quite a few readers have reported they have already received their rebates. These mail-in rebate claims were submitted in early October, after the first big Best Buy sale. Three weeks is a great turn-around-time when Canon’s site says to allow 60 days for the claim. Thanks to readers Wade and Steve for this info!
If you purchased one of the recent deals don’t forget to pre-submit your rebate before mailing it in. The promotion id is 819101650.
B&H, Amazon, Adorama, and other authorized dealers are still featuring the rebates. They continue on through to the end of the holidays. Hopefully these one-day double-dip deals continue, where retailers discount by the amount of the instant rebate. If you want to get notified whenever a retailer double-dips, please sign-up for a notification using the ‘Notify’ button at the top of the main page.
That’s great to hear… I really don’t see the added value in this mail-in rebate methodology. Either way the buyer is getting the discount… Why make them jump through hoop to get it. Instant rebate would be better.
thanks for your reminder, i just submitted my 24-70mm f/2.8 II at http://rebates.usa.canon.com
I bought a 24-70mm lens after your Best Buy deal post. Happy to announce that I just got my AmEx card 🙂 Thanks a lot!
I’m also happy to see that there were no problems with processing the rebate as with the other Canon’s rebate processor > 5 years ago. That required couple of phone calls and waiting time about 3 months if not more…
Hi I bought a canon16-35/2.8 ii on 10/02/13 from best buy.but I just received a letter from canon it says ” the request for your canon rebate could not be honored because : serial number has already been used for this model ” I don’t know if anybody has the same experience as mine , if you know about it please let me know what’s wrong with my rebate form. Now I think The only thing could be wrong was the serial -# which I submitted was 1910b002 . May be I should have input the the whole line of the number which is above he UPC number. Please give me more info if anybody knows about it , I really appreciate your help.
Thanks
Mike
The serial # is not “1910B002” — that is the part code of the product. Your serial number should be a 9-digit (or 10-digit) string, which is the last digits in the line above the UPC (below on older boxes).
It looks like you submitted the Canon Item# not the serial number. Check your box again.
