Canon wants you to try out their printers — you can upload an image of your choice at www.trymyphoto.com and they’ll mail you a free 8″x10″ print. You can try either the PIXMA PRO-1, PIXMA PRO-10, or PIXMA PRO-100. You can get one free print per printer/paper type (about 30 combinations).
Amazon has a bundle of one of these printers, the PIXMA PRO-100, and a 50-sheet package of very wide 13×19″ semi-gloss photo paper for $78.53, after a mail-in rebate (link to rebate form).
Click here to check out the deal at Amazon.
We estimate the total savings to be $88.77 based on the lowest prices available:
- PIXMA PRO-100 regularly goes for $129.21 (after $200 rebate)
- SG-201 Photo Paper Semi-Gloss 13×19″ (50 Sheets) regularly goes for $38.09
If you have to pay sales tax when buying from Amazon, another option would be Adorama which has the same bundle for $89 (after rebate).
but this is cheaper noh? – http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/893738-REG/Canon_6228b002_Pixma_Pro_100_Photo_Inkjet.html
No, at B&H it is $399 less rebate = $99, at Amazon it is $378 less rebate = $78.
ah! didn’t see that part! I’m buying it today! Thank you!!! 😀
B&H might end up being cheaper for you if you have to pay sales tax from Amazon. I’ll add that link to the post. 🙂
Actually, here’s an Adorama link for $10 cheaper: $389 less rebate = $89, which should also be tax-free to California. http://www.canonpricewatch.com/go/Adorama/PIXMA-PRO-100/p=4232&m=6
even better (Y) appreciate it! been eyeing this printer for a month now! 😀
Wonder about the print quality. Depends on combo of profiles and paper. Also are dye based inks archival? I read that dye based inks are better on certain papers.

OK for the Amazon Rebate, read the fine print before you order. Both the paper and the printer have to come sold from Amazon.com LLC. NOT and Amazon Merchant or Third Party Seller. My first pack of paper was sold from Apple_Tech, not Amazon.com. I caught it before I sent in the rebate but after I ordered the paper. So check who is selling it before confirming your order or sending in your rebate. Hope that helps out.
