Tig Tillinghast published a detailed CFexpress reader review on Camnostic, to go with his recent CFexpress card review. It’s a great read before spending on a CFexpress card reader, as he’s tested several readers for performance, usability, and price.
In summary, Tig finds that the best all-round reader is the ProGrade Digital CFexpress Type-B & XQD Thunderbolt 3 Workflow Reader, currently $116.99 at B&H. The Delkin Devices USB 3.2 CFexpress Memory Card Reader is great value for only $54.99 at B&H, and the Sonnet SF3 Series CFexpress/XQD Pro Card Reader is excellent for reading two cards at once, but currently costs $199.99.
Surprisingly, the SanDisk Extreme PRO CFexpress Card Reader tested slightly slower than the others. Thanks to a current deal, it’s now $49.99 at B&H — the (current) lowest priced reader of the bunch.

We recommend that you read through the full article for the details. For example, if your computer doesn’t support Thunderbolt 3, it may make sense to spring for the less expensive Delkin reader. We’ve added these four readers to our price listings so you can watch them for future deals. Thanks, Tig, for sharing your awesome review!
