Only two days after announcement, we’re pleased to have found a tempting 7D Mark II pre-order deal — with a catch.
Camera Canada, a reputable Canadian authorized Canon dealer, has the EOS 7D Mark II and EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM for $2298 Canadian Dollars (approximately $2139.00 US dollars after shipping, given current exchange rates).
This is a fantastic deal because Canadian cameras have been historically supplied with a Canon USA & Canada warranty card that is valid for Canon USA warranty. As the 7D Mark II pre-orders for $1799 in the US, it is like getting the EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM for only $340. This is a lens that is regularly $999 (and that’s only after a recent $500 price drop). That is an incredible savings.
Our readers report paying no tax, duty, or other custom fees when purchasing from Camera Canada. Click here to check out the deal at Camera Canada. Since this is a pre-order, you won’t be charged until your order ships (if you use a credit card), just place an order to be on their list.
This is one of several official pre-order deals that Canon is running exclusively in Canada.
UPDATE: Some good questions about this since it’s a Canadian deal. The official price is $2298 Canadian dollars + shipping. We can’t predict where exchange rates will be in two months, as you aren’t billed until the item ships, but at today’s rates it is $2139 USD. Our readers report that Camera Canada has been open to billing in US dollars at the prevailing exchange rate, so you can ask them about this in November when it comes time to pay for the order.
UPDATE October 1st: The powers that be at Canon Canada have now required everyone who is taking part in this offer to fill out a paper form with a Canadian address. Canon only recently added this requirement, probably because of non-Canadians flocking to do the deal… Sorry about this. Please note, stores will ship the purchase to the (US) address of your choice. So all you need the Canadian address for is the form.
