The Canon Direct Store started a sale on refurbished bodies. Included in the sale is the EOS 5D Mark III and EOS 6D.
When the sale began at midnight, only 44 copies of the 5D Mark III and 53 copies of the EOS 6D were available.
This sale lasts one week (or until sold out) — we expect stock to go within a day or two. Shipping is free with code JUNE14, and the Canon Direct Store charges tax to most states.
This eBay Frenzy deal is back: AllNewShop via eBay has the Canon EOS 5D Mark III for $2559.99. These are import versions from an unauthorized dealer, but come with a store 3-year extended warranty. You can read our previous post about the trade-offs of buying imports from an unauthorized dealer.
The 5D Mark III for $2699 AR (authorized dealer) group buy price is back!
Many of our readers like the safety of buying from an authorized dealer; a few of the stores are willing to sell at the group buy price of $2699.99 (after the $200 Canon mail-in rebate, $2899.99 before rebate) for a limited time. This is only $140 more than the unauthorized dealer deal above.
It is brand-new US model from an US authorized dealer with full one-year Canon USA warranty. Free shipping is included and the dealers don’t collect sales tax for most states. We can’t reveal the name of the dealers at this time, but we can assure you that they are reputable Canon authorized dealers, just like all our street prices and group buys.
Also available is the 5D Mark III + 24-105mm for $3349 after the $200 Canon mail-in rebate.

These two deals are back: Get It Digital via eBay has the Canon EOS-1D X for $5099.99, and the Canon EOS 5D Mark III for $2574.99.
As usual these items are likely imports. Although Canon USA has been traditionally lenient in providing warranty service, a Canon USA warranty is not guaranteed. An equivalent warranty is provided by the store itself.
Get It Digital is not an authorized dealer, but a reliable unauthorized dealer. In eBay deals over the last month, they’ve sold over 400 5D Mark IIIs and 50 1D-X through their eBay store (or their sister-store AllNewShop).
The only two reader issues we’ve heard were a case of someone being shipped the wrong item, and one defective item — both returns were handled cleanly by the store without issue.
If you’d prefer a US model from an authorized dealer with full US warranty, please consider our street prices of $6200 for the 1D X and $2750 for the 5D Mark III.

AllNewShop via eBay is not an authorized dealer. However, they are a very reputable unauthorized dealer, the same store as Get It Digital. A few weeks ago they sold 355 copies of the 5D Mark IIIs for the same price, and looking at their eBay feedback for that specific deal the experience was very positive. We didn’t hear any reader complaints.

AllNewShop via eBay is not an authorized dealer, but they are one of the most reliable unauthorized dealers — they’re the same company as Get It Digital, and their new additional extended warranty actually looks pretty decent. They claim their warranty is serviced at authorized repair centers only, no hidden fees, can be even serviced overseas, and even comes with a free annual cleaning.
