It’s here, the eBay Black Friday 5D Mark III deal! Two deals from two reputable (but not authorized) dealers:

This is the new lowest-ever price on the 5D Mark III. Both of these deals are for import models, where the store provides a 1-year store warranty — read our FAQ about imports models for answers to the usual questions about imports, warranty, unauthorized dealers.

This will likely be the lowest price of the season and we expect it to sell out. AllNewShop via eBay is the alternate store name for GetItDigital. Both dealers have a solid history of reliably delivering brand new bodies at great prices in previous sales — see their CPW eBay Feedback Score.

We’re told (thanks!) that a eBay Frenzy Deal for the 5D Mark III will be showing up “sometime on Thanksgiving Day Eastern Time” and the price will be $2399. We could see the deal as early as midnight tonight ET. Set a notification.

We don’t know who the retailer is, but we expect it to be one of the two big players, either BigValueInc (99.4% CPW Score) or GetItDigital (99.2% CPW Score), or their alternate store names (AllNewShop or ElectronicsValley).

This price of $2399 will be the lowest price ever seen for an import 5D Mark III from a reputable (but unauthorized) eBay dealer. As with previous years, we expect this to be the lowest price of the season.

Quantities will be limited, and this deal will likely sell out. Last year, the $2445 deal started at 12 AM and sold out by 1:31 AM — 300 bodies in 90 minutes. If you want to catch it, please set a notification and we’ll e-mail you as soon as the deal starts.

B&H Photo Video has a bundle of the EOS 5D Mark III and PIXMA PRO-100 for $2749.00, after a $650 mail-in rebate. (You get a $300 mail-in rebate for the camera, and $350 for purchase of camera, printer, and paper.) Click here to check out the deal at B&H.

Many readers have asked why stores are allowed to price this bundle below the minimum advertised price (“MAP”). That’s because MAP only matters on the pre-rebate price. Retailers are allowed to give away items, up to a certain value, and still be compliant with the MAP. When buying a 5D Mark III, the stores have chosen to include a “free” PIXMA PRO-100 and paper (value $398). The pre-rebate price is still above pre-rebate MAP, so this deal is MAP compliant, but because there is an additional $350 rebate, the final post-rebate price is $350 lower than the current body-only post-rebate MAP!

All three of the major Canon unauthorized dealers on eBay (6th Ave, BigValueInc, and AllNewShop (a.k.a. GetItDigital)) slashed their prices today on the Canon EOS 5D Mark III to sub-$2500 — the lowest (for now) is 6th Ave at $2491.81.

This is the first time we’ve seen a sub-$2500 price on the Canon EOS 5D Mark III since Black Friday of 2013. This is a great price today, but bodes really well for any upcoming holiday sales! EOS 5D Mark III prices have dropped: 6th Ave via eBay has the Canon EOS 5D Mark III for $2513.59. This is the lowest price we’ve seen since November 2013. This is an import model, which means a Canon USA warranty is not guaranteed, the store supplies a one-year store warranty instead.

Today’s eBay Frenzy deal is from Get It Digital via eBay. They have the Canon EOS 5D Mark III for $2569.99.

Get It Digital via eBay is not an authorized dealer. They are likely selling import model 5D Mark III, where a Canon USA warranty is not guaranteed: instead the store is providing a store warranty. The store has a feedback score of 99.3% when looking at high-end Canon items.

In the last sale they sold hundreds at this price; most of the feedback was good, but there was one negative report, where a reader was shipped a damaged Canon box (camera seems okay). If you are willing to take a (small) risk, this is a great way to get a 5D Mark III at a great price. Or you can consider our street price of $2699 brand new from an authorized Canon USA dealer with full Canon USA warranty, which is only $130 more.
