Canon Refurbished Sale: 15% Off Lenses, 25% Off 60D ($419)

The Canon Direct Store is starting a sale on refurbished lenses at midnight tonight! They’re offering 15% off refurbished lenses. The sale runs for two weeks.

There is not much in-stock to start with but there are a few great deals below. You can browse our refurb stock tracker to see what’s in-stock. All refurbs come with a one-year Canon warranty.

We are expecting restocks over the duration of this sale, the best way to get in on this deal is via e-mail notification on specific items. You can browse our refurb stock tracker to see what’s in-stock and get notified on out-of stock items (click the ‘Notify’ button on our tracker page). You can read our FAQ about the notification system.

Double Dip Opportunity? 40mm Pancake for $99 AR, 50mm and EOS 6D

Last night, Canon moved from an instant-rebate to a mail-in rebate on certain items. Most retailers have adjusted their prices upwards to mark the ending of the instant rebate, but several eBay stores are a bit tardy in doing so.

UPDATE: As expected, some of the prices have been corrected. Some remain.

There’s a very brief window where you may be able to double-dip the rebate; as long as your invoice date is July 6th, 2014, you will be eligible for the mail-in rebate (on top of an instant rebate price). Yes, purchases at authorized dealers’ eBay stores are eligible for the rebate as the dealer will issue a normal receipt. These prices will likely be corrected later today. Find the rebate form here.

Canon Refurbished Sale Started — 20% Off Almost Everything!

The Canon Direct Store sale is now underway: 20% off refurbished bodies, lenses, and flashes, unfortunately excluding the 5D Mark III, 6D, and 1D-X. The sale runs until next Sunday.

UPDATE: The 135L, 14L and 100mm lenses are known to be glitchy, and no one has been able to checkout with them, even though their website still shows stock…

The most desired item (70-200 II) was sold out in the first few seconds but there are quite a few good deals still. You can see what else is in stock on the CanonPriceWatch Refurbished Stock Tracker. We are expecting a restock sometime during the week, if the item you are interested in is not in stock, please sign-up for a specific notification on that item (click the ‘Notify’ buttons on the tracker page).

If you’d like to learn more about our notification system, we have written an FAQ about it.

Deals Ending Tonight: 50 f/1.4 $299, 85 f/1.8 $319, 600EX-RT $449

In addition to the mail-in rebate with double-dips on lenses expiring tonight, a set of instant rebate deals are expiring as well. Here are some of our favorite ones:

We are expecting to see price increases and enforcement of a new minimum advertised price tonight.

EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM II for $1799 Now Matched at Amazon

Amazon has now price-matched the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM II at $1799.00, after a $300 mail-in rebate. Again, this is the new lowest price that we’ve ever seen for this lens.

UPDATE: They’ve now also matched the deal on the 100L Macro for $725.00, and the 50mm f/1.4 USM for $279.

If Amazon charges tax to your state, you’re better off with the similar deal at BuyDig via eBay.

You see the discounted price of $2099 in your cart at Amazon, then you are eligible for the $300 mail-in rebate, and 4% rewards, bringing your net down to $1715.

The other two BuyDig via eBay deals, the 100L Macro for $725 and the 50mm f/1.4 USM for $279, are almost gone: 64% and 89% sold, respectively.

Hot Deal: EF 50mm f/1.4 USM for $279 at BuyDig via eBay

Another hot deal: BuyDig via eBay has the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM for $279.00.

This is the absolute cheapest we’ve seen for this lens since we started tracking its price in 2007. With a fast-focusing USM motor this lens is a nice upgrade from the 50mm f/1.8. At this price it is tremendous value.

UPDATE: Amazon matched the $279 price.

EF 50mm f/1.4 USM for $299 at BuyDig via eBay

BuyDig via eBay has the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM for $299.99. They’re an authorized dealer. This deal ties for the lowest price that we’ve seen in the last five years — since May of 2008.

This is a great price, an additional $40 savings on top of a $60 instant rebate that Canon is running on this lens.

Last time BuyDig via eBay ran this deal (in April of 2013), they sold 200 copies of this lens in a few hours.
