B&H Photo Video is now showing that the recently announced Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II is in-stock for $1799.00. Due to their store closing it will ship out on Thursday morning. We expect initial quantities are very limited.

We also have a street price available on this lens, which offers a small discount from a Canon USA authorized dealer and free shipping. Because it’s still very early, we can’t publish the price, but you can inquire for more details. This lens was recently announced and features a new “BR Optics” feature that reduces chromatic aberration and an incredible MTF chart vs the old version. This continues their impressive trend of world-class lens redesigns — although they seem to come with a rather large price tag. The old version can be had for $1329, and a very popular Sigma Art for $779.

Canon just announced the Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II. It features new “Blue Spectrum Refractive Optics” designed to reduce chromatic aberration. It’s available now for pre-order at a price of $1799 (B&H, Adorama, Amazon), much more than the Old 35mm f/1.4L (street price: $1179 AR) and the Sigma Art 35mm f/1.4 (street price: $779). As with many of the latest generation Canon lenses though, the MTF charts look fantastic, we’re eagerly awaiting real-world performance reports.

In other news, Canon USA is also making available the Canon EOS M3 in the USA. It will be available for an introductory price of $679 (Adorama). Also available are the EF-M 11-22mm and EF-M 55-200mm.
