Canon Mail-in Rebates Received in Less Than 3 Weeks

Good news: Canon is following through on their rebate promises, and in record time. Quite a few readers have reported they have already received their rebates. These mail-in rebate claims were submitted in early October, after the first big Best Buy sale. Three weeks is a great turn-around-time when Canon’s site says to allow 60 days for the claim. Thanks to readers Wade and Steve for this info!

If you purchased one of the recent deals don’t forget to pre-submit your rebate before mailing it in. The promotion id is 819101650.

B&H, Amazon, Adorama, and other authorized dealers are still featuring the rebates. They continue on through to the end of the holidays. Hopefully these one-day double-dip deals continue, where retailers discount by the amount of the instant rebate. If you want to get notified whenever a retailer double-dips, please sign-up for a notification using the ‘Notify’ button at the top of the main page.

Latest Double Dip: EF 50mm f/1.2L for $1259 at B&H

B&H Photo Video has the Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM for $1259.00 after a $180 mail-in rebate. This is the cheapest price that we’ve seen for this lens in over 5 years, since May of 2008. They’re offering a 4% reward as well. You need to add to cart and start checkout to see this special price.

UPDATE: Both Amazon and Adorama have this price too.

This is the latest in a series of double-dips. As with all double-dips this price will last only hours. The price war and competition between the camera stores this week has been furious, but great for us customers!

Hot Deal, Lowest Ever: EOS 5D Mark III for $2699 from Amazon

Amazon has the Canon EOS 5D Mark III for $2699.00. This is the lowest price that we’ve ever seen for this camera from an authorized dealer, period.

Add to cart to see the price. You can also get a free SD card, bag, and battery.

We’ll be watching closely for other retailers to match and will make more posts if they do.

UPDATE: B&H lowered to $2999 (plus a 4% reward)
UPDATE 2: Done after 7 hours. Amazon is up to $2999.

EOS 5D Mark III for $2549 at BigValueInc via eBay

This deal is back: BigValueInc via eBay has the Canon EOS 5D Mark III for $2549.99. This is pretty close to the lowest price that we’ve seen from an unauthorized dealer, ever.

Compare with $3099 in an active B&H deal. Or, a fantastic deal at Adorama, $3999 for 5D3 + 24-105mm + Speedlite + a Pro-1 Pigment printer.

BigValueInc via eBay is not an authorized dealer, but the last few sales the vast majority of our readers report getting US model items. It is likely worth it for the large savings!

EOS 6D Still $1574 at BestBuy, $1519 Refurbished at Canon

If you missed the flurry of recent 6D deals, there’s still two of note: Best Buy has the Canon EOS 6D for $1574.99. You also get a free camera bag. Unfortunately this doesn’t come with as many bonuses or rewards as the previous sales, but is still a good price for this full-frame body.

Another option is the Canon Refurb Store: they’ve lowered the price of the Refurbished EOS 6D to $1519.20 (from $1599).

All these 6D price drops and deals suggest that Canon is feeling the heat from both the recent D600 price drop (now $1679) as well as the recent Sony A7 announcement (at $1698). Is this a sign that more 6D sales are on the horizon?

EOS M + 18-55mm + 22mm + 90EX for $399 at 1saleaday

This deal is back: 1sale.com (previously known as 1saleaday) has the Canon EOS M with 22mm, 18-55mm, and 90EX Kit for $399.99. This deal lasts until midnight ET tonight.

This is a repeat of the deal that we saw sell out a couple of weeks ago at BuyDig via eBay. Unfortunately 1sale.com is not an authorized dealer (unlike BuyDig). But they’re still very reputable. This is a great deal if you missed the previous EOS M deal.

Even if you’re waiting for the new rumored EOS M2, this is still a great deal as the lenses plus flash should still be usable on the new EOS M2. Previously, best authorized dealer prices were $150 and $125 for the two lenses and $99 for the flash, making the body effectively $25.
