New Street Prices: Tamron 24-70 VC $1070 AR, 70-200 VC $1250 AR

We’re pleased to announce we’re expanding our popular street price program with more 3rd-party lenses over the next weeks!

Today, we’re excited to launch street prices on two very popular Tamron lenses, brand new from authorized Tamron USA dealers with free shipping, and a 6-year Tamron USA warranty.

These are excellent image-stabilized alternatives to the EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM and EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM II if you don’t want to shell out $1699 AR and $1849 AR respectively for the Canon lenses.

There is currently a Tamron mail-in rebate of $100 that expires December 31st, please place your order before Wednesday to take advantage of this mail-in rebate.

Last Week for Canon Rebates, Next Rebate Values Leaked

UPDATE: We’ve had a few other reliable sources step forward to give conflicting information. It sounds like it’s still up in the air on what the next Canon rebates will be. Thus we are retracting our previous statement on the new rebate values. The only thing we are sure of at this time is the current rebates are scheduled to end on January 3rd, 2015. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.

The current Canon mail-in rebates expire on January 3rd, 2015. We now have more info on the Canon rebates that will begin on January 4th. We are told the most popular items will see a significant drop in rebate (and thus an effective price increase):

We are told almost all items will have their rebates slashed or eliminated altogether.

Historically, the November/December timeframe has been the best time to buy Canon, as we see the largest rebates of the year. True to our predictions the Canon Minimum Advertised Price remains strongly enforced and we don’t expect prices to change in the next week. Check out our great street prices.

To be eligible for the current mail-in rebate, purchases must be made before January 3rd, 2015. You don’t need to receive your purchase by then, it just has to be ordered by that date. You have until February 3rd, 2015, to mail your rebate claim form.

Street Price Special: 5D Mark III + BG-E11 for $2569 AR, Authorized

This popular street price special is back: a EOS 5D Mark III + a genuine Canon BG-E11 battery grip for only $2569 (after all applicable rebates), from an authorized dealer with full 1-year Canon USA warranty. No tax to all states, and free shipping. Fill out this form for more information.

The grip deal is hot, it’s only $100 more than the already fantastic $2469 body-only street price (after rebate). The BG-E11 battery grip goes for $275 at other authorized dealers. The mail-in rebate is expected to decrease after January 3rd, 2015.

Also consider a bundle from Adorama of the EOS 5D Mark III and many sweeteners: a PIXMA PRO-100, LP-E6 Battery, Adventura 170 Shoulder Bag, Lexar 64GB SD card for $2498.99, after a $600 mail-in rebate.

Amazon One Day Deal: Pelican Cases — 30% Off (On Average)

Amazon has a really good one-day deal on Pelican cases, with savings of about 30% (vs. the current price seen at B&H or Adorama), and these cases are rarely seen on sale. These cases are practically indestructible, their warranty covers everything except “shark bite, bear attack and children under five.”

Canon Rebates Decreasing After January 3rd (Effective Price Increase)

UPDATE: We’ve had a few other reliable sources step forward to give conflicting information. It sounds like it’s still up in the air on what the next Canon rebate values will be. The only thing we are sure of at this time is the current rebates are at least good until January 3rd, 2015. We don’t know what the next rebate value will be, it could either be the current rebates extended, or reduced in value. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.

The current Canon mail-in rebates are scheduled to expire on January 3rd, 2015. We now have info from a reliable source regarding what happens next. A new rebate will begin on January 4th, but we are told that the rebate values will be significantly reduced from their current values, effectively a price increase.

We’re told most rebate values are decreasing, with some rebates disappearing altogether. We are told that the most popular items will see their rebates slashed (current rebate values shown):

This matches our expectation based on historical data: the best rebates of the year are typically during the November/December rebate periods, with a weak (or no) rebate in January.

To be eligible for the current mail-in rebate, purchases must be made before January 3rd, 2015. You don’t need to receive your purchase by then, it just has to be ordered by that date. The Canon mail-in rebates have been extremely reliable.

Beach Camera Sigma Art 50mm for $799, Doesn’t Seem “Refurbished”

Is Beach Camera up to their old tricks again?

Two days ago, Beach Camera via Amazon listed the refurbished Sigma Art 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM for Canon for $799.00. But we’ve now received two reports from readers who have already received their purchases: the lenses appear to be brand new! For example, Joe C. writes:

“No marks anywhere on box or camera that it is refurb. Everything sealed warranty card included. I believe they were new!”

If true, this wouldn’t be the first time Beach Camera, also known as BuyDig, has listed brand new items as refurbished to get around MAP Policies. They are an authorized Sigma dealer. Tax only to NJ.
