The current Canon mail-in rebates expire on January 3rd, 2015. We now have more info on the Canon rebates that will begin on January 4th. We are told the most popular items will see a significant drop in rebate (and thus an effective price increase):

Historically, the November/December timeframe has been the best time to buy Canon, as we see the largest rebates of the year.
