This is likely grey market / import, as Get It Digital via eBay is not an authorized dealer. Historically Canon USA has provided warranty service on grey market bodies anyway — but this is at the discretion of Canon USA, and can change at any time. Beware an upsell call, stay firm and insist that they process your order at the $1999 price.
The price for the 5D Mark III has been pegged at this $1999 level for 6 months, since February of 2015. Many readers ask why we haven’t seen price drops during this time (especially given the 5Ds/5DsR launch). The reason why is: the dominant factor in grey market pricing is the USD/JPY exchange rate. Looking at that rate history we’ve barely seen it change (less than 5%) over the last 6 months. This is in contrast with a huge 20% run-up from September to December which was responsible for the $400 price drop we saw in February.

These deals are available because Canon lowered the MAP on the EOS-1D X today by $700, amidst rumors of a new camera coming. You can see the new price of $4599 at most major authorized dealers such as B&H, Adorama, and Amazon. Our authorized dealer street price has also dropped to $4199. This puts the price more in-line with the unauthorized dealers selling the EOS-1D X for $3999.
