• $125 rebate on EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II + Extender EF 1.4x III or 2x III: $2214 AR

  100-400 II + extenders have been popular. Several readers have opted to purchase a super-telephoto now and add an Extender EF 1.4x III or 2x III. Thanks to the rebate, the net cost of adding an extender to a super-telephoto purchase is $284, which is a steal.

• $200 rebate on EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM + EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM: $1499 AR

  Two lenses that have been very common in combos have been the EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM and EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM. That’s because the $100 mail-in rebate on each is a huge percent-discount (10% and 13% respectively). Together they are a surprisingly common bundle at $1499 AR.

  The absolute best percentage discount is on these two entry-level primes, pushing both sub-$300. As a result these two have been popular together, or as add-ons to other lenses to make a pair.

  Almost all lenses are offered on this promotion, so many readers are making bundles out of new lenses such as the EF 11-24mm f/4L USM, EF 35mm f/1.4L II or from popular mainstays like the EF 85mm f/1.2L II USM, EF 135mm f/2.0L USM or EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM. You can also purchase a camera body — including the newly-in-stock EOS 80D — to “activate” the mail-in rebate on a lens, but the camera itself is not eligible for any rebates.

Canon just started a hot new mail-in rebate promotion: you receive an AMEX reward card by mail when you purchase two or more lenses or one or more lenses and a body. These rebates run from March 25th through July 9th. However, there’s currently an amazing instant rebate program (up to $200 off lenses) that’s expiring on April 2nd, unless renewed.

For the brief period of March 25th through April 2nd you can take advantage of BOTH active Canon rebate programs.

To qualify you need to purchase two or more items at the same time on the same sales receipt from a Canon USA authorized dealer.
