Cyber Monday: Sigma Art 24-105mm and 35mm for $799 Each at B&H

B&H Photo Video has two popular Sigma lenses in an early Cyber Monday sale: the Sigma Art 24-105mm F/4 DG OS HSM for Canon for $799.00, and the Sigma Art 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM for Canon for $799.00. You also receive a 4% B&H reward ($32), making your net price $767, a good price for these lenses, which regularly retail for $899. This sale ends tomorrow at midnight.

Rokinon Xeen Cinema Lenses $1695 Each, +10% Rewards, Adorama

Adorama has the complete line-up of Rokinon Xeen Cinema Lenses on-sale this weekend. Each lens is only $1,695 (regular price $2495) — a $800 savings. Additionally, all lenses (except the new 135mm) come with a 10% or $169.50 reward.

Now, the stills photographers in the audience (that’s most of you!) are probably thinking, “wow, what expensive lenses, they don’t even have autofocus”. Professional cinema lenses are impressively engineered as they need to satisfy many more requirements: minimizing “focus breathe”, durable metal housings, detent-free apertures, longer focus throws.

This price is remarkable, as it takes what was already an affordable entry-point into the cinema glass market and knocks it down a further 40%. Cinema5D has a great blog post on how disruptive this line-up already was at $2500-per lens. You can now own the entire line-up for less than $10K, about $1550 each, a mere fraction of the cost of traditional cinema glass.

Super Hot: Sigma C 150-600mm for $679 + Free Dock, BuyDig eBay

A super hot deal, worthy of Black Friday, from authorized Sigma dealer BuyDig via eBay. They have the Sigma Contemporary 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM for Canon for only $679.00. This is the lowest price we’ve seen yet for this very popular and well-reviewed optically-stabilized lens, and it even comes with a free Sigma USB dock.

Sigma is still likely feeling the heat from the recently announced Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC G2 priced at $1399. At just over half the price, the Sigma Contemporary 150-600mm is incredible value.

Black Friday: Sigma Art 18-35 DC for $649, Free Dock, BuyDig eBay

Authorized Sigma dealer BuyDig via eBay has the Sigma Art 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM for $649.00. You also get a free Sigma Dock. Canon, Nikon, and Sigma lens mounts are available. Please note this is a crop-sensor lens.

This is the lowest price seen yet for this lens, one of the fastest (at f/1.8) wide-angle zooms for Canon crop-sensor bodies. This lens regularly goes for $799.

It’s Black Friday! Where Are the Canon Deals? They’re at CPW.

Black Friday is finally here, and many readers have been surprised and disappointed with the lack of Canon deals. Having watched Canon prices intently for six years now, I can’t say I’m surprised with how Black Friday turned out this year. With the strong Canon minimum advertised price as well as the war waged on the grey market, there’s just no discounting unless it’s a Canon USA sponsored discount. This year, there was none except for a Speedlite, some rebels, and a printer.

Although there are lots of great deals on bags, tripods, and other knickknacks through B&H or Adorama, we’re not seeing the previously ubiquitous printer bundle deals (thanks to — you guessed it — Canon MAP policy rules.)

So where are the deals?

One of the better deals this week is the Canon refurbished sale on bodies and 15%-off refurbished lenses. Savvy readers will note that this sale comes around a few times a year and have been following via our refurbished stock tracker.

As for brand new items, dear CPW readers, you have been sitting on a treasure trove of Black Friday deals all this time. Our street prices are already great low prices all-year round (that means we haven’t been holding back), and our Black Friday specials have been running for the last week. The are our best deals available, and we don’t expect any broad price drops on these items in the near term (barring any Canon USA sponsored craziness). Many have sold out, but there are great ones that remain, stackable with the lens combo mail-in rebate and the CarePAK Plus (where eligible). Here are some of our most popular deals — but not for long, because the next change we expect is prices going up after Cyber Monday.

(Lens prices assume two-lens purchase for combo lens mail-in rebate eligibility.)

Rokinon 8mm f/3.5 HD Fisheye for $169 at Amazon, New Low

As a Black Friday deal, Amazon has the Rokinon 8mm f/3.5 HD Fisheye for Canon for $169.48. This is the lowest price we’ve seen yet for this great-value manual-focus lens.

This is the “HD” version of this popular lens, which features a detachable lens hood for full-frame shooters to get close to a circular field-of-view.

You can see some fun and creative photos taken with the 8mm f/3.5 HD fisheye in the Flickr group for this lens.
