Introducing Our Newly Redesigned CPW Notifications Feature

We’re very excited to rollout our newly redesigned CPW Notifications feature. We’ve made it easier to get alerts of deals on Canon gear and other popular photography equipment.

New Push Notification Feature

You can now receive your CPW alerts via push notification — these alerts will show in the “notifications tray” on your desktop computer (Windows or MacOS), or on your Android device.

UPDATE: For iPhone or iPad push notifications, follow these instructions.

This can be in addition to, or even instead of, the conventional email-based notifications that you may already receive from us. Configure your notification methods in the “Notification Methods” pane of our newly redesigned notification management page.

New “Watchlists” Feature

We’re making it easier for you to control which notifications that you receive. We’ve introduced watchlists — add items to your watchlist and we’ll notify you (by email or push) whenever there’s a deal on the item. You will also be notified of our occasional secret/unpublished deals on items — deals so good that dealers don’t even want them posted! You can add items to your watchlist by clicking the bell icon on a product page (e.g. the EOS R) or from the notification management page.

Use the watchlist when you only are interested in a couple products, or when you want to minimize the number of notifications that you receive.

If you don’t want to miss anything, you can still subscribe (use the bell icon on the main page, or via the notification management page) to receive notifications on all of the great deals that we post. On average, we post between one and two hand-curated deals per day.

Changes to Price Target Alerts

Our old notification system is still available — it has been renamed to price target alerts. This is still useful for advanced users who want alerts for used/refurbished restock, or have a specific price target in mind. In general, we recommend that you use the “watchlist” feature instead, as it will give you the most relevant alerts for that item. Price target alerts are now sent via email and/or push notification, according to your “Notification Methods” configuration.

You can manage your price target alerts on the price target alerts console. By default, price target alerts now expire 180 days after they are set. This is to ensure the alerts still remain relevant to you — you can renew or re-setup the same alert after expiry, if the price target is still of interest.

Don’t Want Alerts? No Problem.

If email alerts or push notifications are still not for you, you can follow our RSS feed, Facebook page, or Twitter feed to keep up with the best of Canon deals.
