It&#8217;s one of the few webcams we can find in-stock from a reputable store at this time (<a href=\"\/click.cgi?u=440925\">$89.95<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>In a pinch, you can use your Canon camera as a webcam, without buying extra hardware. This is great if you can&#8217;t find a webcam, or if you&#8217;re tired of grainy video and want to add some <i>bokeh<\/i> to your video-chats. For Mac, open-source software can stream your USB-tethered Canon camera video &#8212; find <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.crowdcast.io\/en\/articles\/1935406-how-to-use-your-dslr-as-a-webcam\">instructions here<\/a> or a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wE3dHiicCC8\">video tutorial here<\/a>. If you&#8217;re using Windows, commercial software <a href=\"https:\/\/sparkosoft.com\/sparkocam\">Sparkocam<\/a> is available &#8212; the free version comes with a watermark, but is usable.<\/p>\n<p><b>UPDATE:<\/b> Two hours after our post, Canon published a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=msJAkr3FsUM\">YouTube video<\/a> touting their new <a href=\"https:\/\/a.pgtb.me\/JCHJp2\">Webcam Utility Beta Software<\/a> which is another alternative to the commercial Sparkocam software, for Windows.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re planning on using your camera in this way, an AC adapter is recommended to avoid unnecessarily cycling your batteries.
